I know Mask could be an obvious choice but what about Oghma? They could be used to help keep certain knowledge from others. |
| MarkusTay6307-16-07, 02:55 PM | Ohgma would be the perfect choice, but I would have this group be part of 'secret society' within the main church. Just such a group is used, and is the MAIN machination, of the novel Blackstaff. Basically, small cells of agents 'liberate' hidden knowledge from Wizards, and I suppose it would be possible to include priesthoods in that (hence the main church disavoying ANY knowledge of this group). |

I've put the name of Fearūnian deities in bold. Looks like there's no readon why there couldn't be Temple Raiders of more than one faith. Non-racial deities that would fit, in my opinion, are Mask, Oghma, Nephthys, Set, Tymora, Beshaba, and even Shar. They do say in Complete Divine that any deity of rogues, thieves, or secret could be a patron for Temple Raiders. |
| Zanan07-17-07, 06:02 AM | That's the problem with most "Core" books. They give you tons of info and detail, but for lack in adaptation rules - official adaptation rules that is - for other settings. Thus, it needs web articles like those of Eytan Bernstein to Realmsify classes or prestige classes, which can obviously only happen in a limited extend. :( |
| The_Shaman07-17-07, 07:53 AM | I would peg Mask or Tymora as the most likely among the universal pantheon, with Brandobaris closely behind. |
| Green Elven Vampire07-17-07, 10:55 AM | One of my favorite PC's ever is a Copper elf Rogue 7/ Tempest 5/ Temple Raider of Erevan Ilesere 10. At 22'nd level he was wicked indeed!! The best bets are rogue deities. |

Where would we be if we only used what the authors cooked up? |

| The_Shaman07-18-07, 04:41 AM | Tymora the Halfling goddess, or Tymora the human goddess?? I think there is only one Tymora. She is afaik a "general" goddess; halflings say she is a halfling goddess who assumes a humanlike form for a wider appeal, but afaik she is not a member of the racial pantheon. It could be that the halflings are just spinning a yarn - her closest affiliation to the halfling deities that I know of is her on-and-off fling with Brandobaris. |
| Fabius Maximus07-18-07, 08:03 AM | In my games, I have no problems with cooking and mixing and changing. :D That's why I wondered about your complaint. ;) |
| Zanan07-18-07, 10:11 AM | That's why I wondered about your complaint. ;) Because designers may be hesitant to use Greyhawk/Core stuff for a certain setting unless there is at least a hint somewhere saying that the PrC exists thereabouts. No wonder that you find relatively few non-FR PrC in FR products, where e.g. the Temple Raider would be well suited. BTW, off to the Gate! |
