08-22-07, 09:05 AM I was wondering if there are any other prestige classes specific to Thay besides the Red Wizard, Thayan Gladiator, and Thayan Knight? Or if not, any prestige classes that might work well with the Thayan theme and be adapted to Thay? Thanks!

08-22-07, 11:17 AM -Anything that deals with magic could theoretically fit in Thay- Archmagi, Incantrixi, Loremasters, etc.

Thayan Slaver. Black Flame zealot. Raumathari Battlemage (few, but some would study it).

Most of the evil clerical prestige classes would fit, considering Bezantur is considered one of the most populated temple areas of the realms.

Other prestige classes that would fit would be any geared towards dark magic and/or elemental/energy magics. The true necromancer would fit with followers of Velsharoon. The blood mage. The ultimate magus (wizard with either beguiler, warmage, or dread necromancer would be common). Mystic theurges would fit, but not highly common due to the arcane disdain of divine magic... still there would be some (Kossuthans, Banites, Velsharoonists, Talosians/Malykists, Sharrans, Cyricists all spring to mind). Archmage. Master Specialist. Abjurant Champion. Unseen Seer (rare). Argent Savant. Elemental Savant. Geometer. Initiate of the Sevenfold veil. Spell sword. Eldritch Knight. Master Transmogrifist. Dirgesinger. Master of Shrouds. Pale Master. Tainted Scholar. War Weaver. Dread Commando.

There's probably dozens more, but these are the ones that come to mind when I think of Thay. With all these options out there, I wonder how many are actually taking up the red wizard robes at a young age rather than grabbing some other special abilities and then taking up the red robes (so they don't give up so many spells when they give up the 3rd school of magic).

08-22-07, 02:07 PM really, you can justify just about anything you want.
you don't have to be a Red Wizard PrC to be a "Red Wizard". it's a station or rank, not a class, though you can be a purist if you want.
had a few friends that joined the Spellguard that weren't officially in the PrC. we figured (can't remember name) Wiz Prc w/ Spell Pool could work as well, also for War Wizards, etc. it all comes down to your interpretation and license really.

-there could be a Thayan version of that griffon rider PrC from the Great Rift (?) given their air cav legion.
-any number of Vile ones from BoVD, i mean, it's Thay...
-Telflamm Shadowmasters (it's not that far away) and Mask's influence, etc.

08-22-07, 05:48 PM Actually, instead of the Great Rift Skyguard I think Thayans might have their version of the Zhentarim Skymage (Lords of Darkness)... It is quite powerful imo. All in all, there are quite a bit of PrCs related to Thay. Come on, how many PrCs do you know related to Damara or Moonshae Isles?

Yea, none that I can think of.

If I take the Black Flame Zealot class and change it so it has full divine spell progression, would it be making it over-powered?
