I'm in the process of converting an old 2nd edition character over to 3.5 edition. I own FRCS and 'Faiths and Pantheons', but not Player's guide to Faerun. Because the books I own are 3rd edition not 3.5 I just wanted to check if I have these updates correct for a few feats:

Shadow Weave Magic:requires Wis 15 or patron deity Shar. Saving throws for spells from enchantment, illusion and necromancy increase by +1. You also get a +1 to caster level checks to overcome spell resistance with spells from these schools. Spells cast from the schools of evocation and transmutation(except spells with the darkness descriptor) are cast at -1 caster level. Can no longer cast spells with the light descriptor, they automatically fail.

Is this now the correct version by 3.5 rules?

And all of the below still have the benefits as described but none of the drawbacks that were previously presented in FRCS. Is that correct, do I have this right?

Insidious Magic:Any weave user who uses a divination spell(detect magic, etc.), spelllike ability or magic item has to make a successful level check(DC 11+shadow users level) to succeed. Also need to make a successful level check to reveal the effects of your spells. The weave user can only make one check no matter how many shadow spells are active.

Pernicious Magic:you gain a +4 bonus on caster level checks to defeat weave users spell resistance.Stacks with spell penetration and greater spell penetration.

Tenacious Magic:Weave users have to make a dispel check at DC15 +your level to dispel your spells

Lastly I've noticed an alternative nightcloak prestige class
here:

And was wondering is the Night Cloak as presented in the FRCS still official in forgotten realms campaigns or does this version take precedence?

Any help in resolving my many rules conflicts would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
TKIY.

Technically, that Nightcloak wins, as it's the current rules version.

Use whichever you want tho :)

Which version, the one in the link? Also with the feats am I up to date with the 3.5 changes?

The Nightcloak of the FR sources is specifically coined for the shadow magic feats hereabouts and as a conversion of the old specialty priests of Shar.
The Nightcloak in the web-enhancement of Complete Divine*, on the other hand, is an alternative for all faiths who meet the (flair) requirements (Mask, Loviatar, Cyric, Drow deities ...) but not necessarily need or want to utilize the Shadow Magic stuff. It would have been better not to name it just like the Sharran FR version, but that can be amended in no-time.

One of my favourite evil divine PrC these days.

NB: Do note that the WE version is no substitute or update for the FR Nightcloak.

Right, got it. Thanks very much for that clarification.

Just a few more questions then if I may.

Other than the drawbacks with the Shadow Weave Magic feat that I included in my first post. The drawbacks for Insidious Magic, Pernicious Magic and Tenacious Magic are no longer part of the respective feats leaving only the benefits as outlined above, according to the 3.5 Forgotten Realms Player's handbook?

What I mean by drawbacks is that in 3.0 Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting when selecting Tenancious Magic your ability to dispel weave users was then impaired DC13+opponent's caster level.
Pernicious magic, your ability to counterspell weave users was then impaired, level check at DC9 + opponent's caster level.
Insidious Magic, your ability to detect a weave effect was then impaired, requiring a caster level check of DC9+opponent's caster level.

Because please correct me if I'm wrong, I think these drawbacks are no longer part of the feats according to the 3.5 Forgotten Realms Player's Handbook?

Lastly (And I apologize for all these questions) I don't believe there has been any changes from the 3.0 FRCS to 3.5 Player's Guide, Nightmask prestige class in terms of the order you gain the prestige class abilities at level advancement or any other minor changes like that?

Nice Avatar btw!

Yep, the PGtF updated the Shadow magic stuff a wee bit and you no longer suffer for using it (loosing Wis points of the like) - well, apart from the certain schools that get bonuses and penalties (though I haven't checked all the feats in detail). Probably because there are more faiths with the Darkness domain who may have wanted to utilize e.g. the Shadow Adept PrC without pledging allegiance to Shar or having to pay any other penalties.

Nightmasks? Not sure what you refer to (even if you meant the Nightcloak, who isn't featured in the PGtF). Most changes to other PrC were made because of changed skills and the like, or some apparently broken or "too heavy" class features. Dunno why the Divine Champions lost their good Ref saves though ...

Ah yes of course you're right I was under the impression I'd seen Nightmask twice in the consolidated lists one for FRCS and another listed as from FR player's guide, but double checking I find only one source and it's Faiths and Pantheons. Sorry about that, that's good then.
I think now I can make those ammendments to my FRCS in respect to the feats Insidious, Tenacious and Pernicious magic and be confident that they are up to date with 3.5 rules changes, unless there's anything else I've missed?

Really pleased about that thanks for the help, the character in question reached 10th level in the speciality priest class under 2nd edition rules and I really think it's time for an update.
