So if you would have to give a example of a npc for a class, who would you give?
And if it was the generally most powerfull(in a overall- personal, influence, status...)?

I know that this discussion, when related to the warriors or wizards is quite common. But what about the rogues, clerics, druids, monks, etc?

Note that some formely mentioned (like abordabe of Narfell), aparently are not present in the most recent guidebooks or novels, so either died or are out of cannon.

Is there any cleric more powerful that iyraclea? Or paladin mightier that Gareth dragonsbane? And what about Kane?

So if you would have to give a example of a npc for a class, who would you give? The Knights of Myth Drannor, of course.
fighter: Islif Lurelake
ranger: Florin Falconhand
wizard: Jhessail Silvertree
cleric: Rathan Thentraver
druid: Lanseril Snowmantle
rogue: Torm of WestgateAnd if it was the generally most powerfull(in a overall- personal, influence, status...)?Why would it be?Is there any cleric more powerful that iyraclea? Or paladin mightier that Gareth dragonsbane? And what about Kane?At those exalted heights, that's a meaningless quibble that misses everything that makes these characters interesting -- this isn't Top Trumps -- even if we had the information to answer it. Do you think we need yet another "who's the most powerful?" thread?

I just asked because she a good example of a ranger.

It's just that there's so many who' the uber mage or warrior around, that maybe the other guys deserved a little light.

my take so far:
monk-Kane
Rogue-Dannihyr
paladin-Dragonsbane
ranger-Hawklin
bard-Moonsilver
Druid-Pheszeltan
Cleric-Iyraclea
barbarian-the iron lord(maybe???)

Got a question. If a ranger(as he levels up), gains more experience in tracking , and since all ranger(whatever the level) never seem to lose their prey, what the difference between a high level and a low level(in tracking skills)?

They can track somebody in solid ground (rocky for example) because they are able to beat the DC.

What about that Fireshield fellow among the Tall Trees Druid (Champions of Valor)? He has a lowish class level, but is quite something altogether. Turlang should also get a mention imo.

Almost every NPC featured in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting sourcebook is either multi-classed or prestige-classed, so its fairly difficult to declare most FR NPCs as they definitive paragon of a given class or archetype.

I don't think that any single character can truly represent a paragon of how any of the core archetypes are portrayed in the Realms. They're individuals, each with their own personal, cultural, religious, and moral foundations.

Almost every NPC featured in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting sourcebook is either multi-classed or prestige-classed, so its fairly difficult to declare most FR NPCs as they definitive paragon of a given class or archetype.Yet most adventurous characters are generally accounted warriors (or rangers or paladins), priests/clerics (or druids), mages/wizards, or thieves. Those are concepts in the Realms as well as character classes. There are no definitive paragons, but there are good, representative models for players and DMs who want to see how such characters in the Realms typically think and act.
