Hey all! I'm starting a campaign soon (as a DM) where one of the players is going to be a Earthroot Dwarf. This campaign is going to be set in the old Weiss and Hickman Desert of Desolation -- Raurin -- and so this underground dweller is going to spend a lot of his time outdoors.

My question is, what penalties should I apply to his character for being out in the hot beating sun?

If I recall correctly there is a feat that allows underdark dwellers to exist in the outdoors ok -- the picture in the book is a drow sunning himself on a rock somewhere -- but I can't remember what the name of the feat is and what book it is in.

Thanks in advance!

The feat is Daylight Adaptation. It appeared first in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting and later updated in the Player's Guide To Faerūn (that is were you saw the image of the drow). Beware that the feat was errated and is no a regional feat. But I think that the feat only removes penalties for races who have specific flaws to direct sunlight, such as those of the duergar and drow. Other races from the underdatk with no penalties dwell well in daylight without this feat. (Are Earthroot Dwarves the Urdunnir? not sure).
