03-17-07, 11:41 PM Oddly enough, I can't find anything I glaringly disapprove of with this adaption. ;) I like how Warlocks of the Realms remained by far and large Warlocks as they were originally presented. None of those pansy 'Chaotic Good Misunderstood' Warlocks. (Warping of Star Elves doesn't count, in my opinion.) I also really like the Queen of Air and Darkness bit.

I also like the article, and I also agree in that sorcerers should be used in these terms. From my point of view, I think sorcerers would have to be those 'born with the gift', people who are descended from magical creatures (aberrations, dragons, elementals, fey, outsiders) or have some special connection to the weave that let them cast spells spontaneously. I see warlocks more like those who 'get the gift' from an external way, such as dragon, fey, or outsider pacts or some other similar mechanics that does not rely on 'descended from this type of creature'.

Once in the "general d&d" board, I heard someone make the statement "The Warlock is the Sorcerer that the Sorcerer class should have been."

We don't use warlocks in our Realms, so I guess we'd have to substitute sorc for the mechanics.

You should be able to substitute sorcerers with little change in the overall story.

03-23-07, 09:00 AM Celadrin are like elven aasimars. They're descended from the union of worshippers of the elven goddess Hanali Celanil and eladrins (usually firre). They are featured in Eric Boyd's article "Legacies of Ancient Empires: Planetouched of Faerūn" in the December 2006 edition of Dragon Magazine (#350).
