07-26-07, 06:28 PM i have got a question concerning the warsling sniper prestige class from races of fearun. can you treat the exotic weapons halfling warsling and skiprock as simple weapons for halflings? its their "preferred" weapon and after all the dwarfen waraxe and the urgrosh are treated as martial weapons for dwarfes!
i am not a native english speaker so please apologize if i spell or understand anything wrong but races of fearun does not mention anythig about that and to me it seems only logic to treat them as simple weapons! thaks for help!!!

Unless the entry for the weapon - or for any of the Halfling subraces - explicity gives them Weapon Familiarity with it, then the answer is no, by the official rules. Only a DM could make that happen in their own campaign if they wanted.

It might make sense if they did, but, unfortunately, that's the general rule, what you asked for, right then & there.

07-28-07, 02:28 AM If your character takes Improved Weapon Familiarity from Complete Warrior, then he treats warslings/skiprocks as martial weapons. So take a level of fighter with Improved Weap. Famil. and you'll have access to both feats.

NOTE: Races of the Wild removed the "halfling" word from the warsling (i.e. RoF had "halfling warsling"; CW has "warsling"), but I think it's a mistake, especially since Races of the Wild is there to cater to halflings! The way I have houseruled it IMC is as follows: Improved Weap. Famil. applies if your race's name appear in the weapon name OR text description.
