What kind of dragon is the Purple Dragon of Cormyr? Are there any stats for the creature? I know that the scales of a really old black dragon turn purple, but from what I have read this isn't a black dragon, or a shadow dragon. Anyone have anything on it?

-The Purple Dragon of Cormyr was an Great Black Wyrm. For effect, one could continue advancing it's HD past that of a normal Great Wyrm.

Just to add to what you're saying, Lord Karsus....

Anyone planning to do this may want to consult the 3.5 core D&D product Draconomicon. :teach:

-Yeah, I was looking there. It doesn't mention anything about the "purpleing" of the scales, but the precident is established Greenwood and Grubb in Cormyr: A Novel.

Well, yes, of course, I'm just talking about adjusting the dragon to fit it being beyond it's normal Great Wyrm hit dice.
