02-15-08, 11:39 AM I remember reading in a book about a character wearing Black Mithral but I can't find any info on the properties of the metal, any help would be great.

02-15-08, 04:07 PM Probably just mithral that's been blackened for decorative purposes. Possible methods might include burning, painting, and enameling.

02-15-08, 09:28 PM All I know about black mithril comes from the Arduin Grimore setting...just google Arduin...there is a lot of fan sites about the setting.

... or rather not to shine in the (Under-)dark? BTW, you could "simply" add the nonmagical "camouflage" property as described in Underdark to mithril (or any sort of armor / clothing).

04-12-08, 01:12 PM Jack Ravenwild in the City of Ravens novel uses a black mithral dagger. Official stats in Dragon Magazine #278 says that black mithral retains its enhancement properties in antimagic or dead magic areas.
