Straploknight 09-22-07, 01:20 AM	I'm putting together new PC for an adventure and I've been thinking about armor descriptions and armor types and I've settled on some variation of a chain shirt, however a chain hauberk sounds way sexier than a chain shirt, interestingly I've come upon some variations here. http://www.chain-mail-armour.co.uk/html/armoury.htm Byrnie - this is closest to what is in the PHB under chain shirt. Haubergion - provides more protection and could be best described as a byrnie with a longer bottom (covers below the waist somewhat) and sleeves to the elbows. Hauberk - a haubergion with an extended skirt. Full Hauberk - long sleeved hauberk. Then of course you have the full mail suit. It seems odd to me that a chain shirt provides as much protection as stated compared to the hauberks and haubergion or even comapred to a full suit of mail. It almost seems, a chain shirt should provide about the same AC as leather or studded leather. Thoughts?
