Contribute your favourit stunts, derring-do swordplay, energized spellbattles and nailbiting contests. I'll start out with this: The party with my character Thuran (level 4 fighter/rogue) was chasing this drow ridercaptain into an elven mausoleum in the vale of lost voices. After locating and engaing the 20 drow raiders the drow fled into the crypt. In the last room (wich had a bridge in the middle and had 4 support pillars on the other side of the room) the captain casted an obscuring mist. He desecrating the graves by stealing an elven battlesuit. Mummies rose out from the graves on our side. They did not attack the elven compaignons of Thuran. Their attention was on the human instead. Even so the fear got ahold of the elven mage and the priest of correllon was paralyzed at the knowledge he could not destroy his own ancestors by turning. The party was also peppered with drow bolts trying to keep the heroes down. Thuran ran into the mist toward one of the pillars with a drow crosbowman in hiding wich he spotted before the mist spell. The mist swirled as a downward slash of Thurans duergarforged greatsword produced a muffled scream of a male drow. A single step behind the pillar proved wise as the area where Thuran stood got saturated with bolts. Tracking the trajectory of a bolt Thuran squatted and crossed the mist to a second crosbowman. A quick thrust followed by a knee to the head made short work of the raider. Then a high pitched battlecry seemed to disperse the mists revealing the drowcaptain charging headfirst towards Thuran. His overhead slash was aimed true, but an unseen force jerked at the drow and the expertly crafted elven sword nicked a piece of marble from the floor next to Thurans boots. This event proved fatal as Thuran feinted a disarm and with a double backhanded spin of his greatsword whent for the kill instead. The captain got sliced along the entire length of his torso and flew into the now empty battlesuit standard. Assuming the battle won Thuran sheathed his sword. A shuffling sound revealed one of the mummies that crossed the bridge behind Thuran. A bone crunching thud followed as the mummie brought its bandaged fist to the stomach of the exhausted young warrior forcing all air out his lungs. All whent black... he could here his elven compaignons surprized cries and the rushing of their feet. |
