The wording of the feat is "proficient with martial weapons" so yes, it would seem you need to be proficient with all them, i.e. your starting class needs to be a barbarian, fighter, paladin, ranger, or some non-core martial base class, such as knight.

If it meant any martial weapon, it would say "proficient with a martial weapon".
