| OrderofUhlrik11-28-07, 08:36 PM | The way we always handled this in our gaming sessions (It was a wall of iron with us.) We used a bit of logic. Iron's density is 7.87 g/cm^3. Which equates to 787 kg/m^3 2.2 pounds to a kg, so 1731 pounds. 3.28 feet to a meter, so 528 pounds/foot^3. That, in a word, is heavy. So, lets just say your mage consists of three cubic feet of mass, in iron form he weighs 1584 lbs. times 32 ft/s for gravity. If he's falling from high up he can attain a huge force relatively quickly. So the way we did it was, for every 1d6 of falling damage (this is 2e rules we worked with), add a d20 for the immense weight. If from max-height, crushing blow should apply to the person being struck and for all items on said person. Hell, if from half max-height that could be true if you wanted. This trick is deadly, plain and simple. I crushed a dragon in two dropping a iron-wall from max height. But this is our gaming group, but rationally, this should be absolutely damned devestating. |
