Can the hornblade special ability be applied to weapons other than short swords, long swords and spears? Races of Faerun lists those weapons but doesn't say anything about it not being applicable to ranged weapons for example.

Could it be applied to a short bow or long bow maybe for a halfling fighter?

Do people think that the +1 cost is worth wild?

Based on the text I'd say those are the only 3 weapons you get.

Just use the Sizing (Underdark) property if you need it on something else, it's also a +1 and much more useful in general.

Well the catch is for a small creature the Hornblade is better because even though he can wield as one size category smaller for all other intents and purposes its normal sized. So it deals a bit more damage... is that damage worth a +1? Maybe?

I guess you could get +1d6 elemental damage for the same price but that damage won't be multiplied by a crit. Many creatures are resistant to an elemental type, how often are they resistant to a weapon type, slashing, piercing, etc?

So get a +1 sword with Acid, Cold, Electric, Fire and Sonic, then you got 4 more enhancements to play with. (Pure Good, Holy, etc. for more damage, or some more unique enhancements, like Sizing/Hornblade)
