Legendary Armor [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-12-07, 05:55 PM I am creating a Masterwork Armor for a Radiant Servant of Pelor, and would like idea's on what a good name for the item might be. I do not want the player to know the item is a legendary item right away, so he will be finding information about it throughout the game, and i cannot think up a good name for a legendary suit of armor. The armor is of masterwork quality, and it has a symbol of pelor that glows when battle begins. The item will be sentient, allow the wearer to comprehend laguages and give healing spells 3 times per day. that is what will be recieved after the first legacy ritual is complete.
So if you could come up with a few names it would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

02-12-07, 07:28 PM I'm not so good at names, so I won't try any singular suggestions. What I WILL suggest is that maybe the armor's named after a hero or famous individual who was once in the service of Pelor. Maybe even a more obscure hero, of old, that someone might not think about right off the bat (make it a knowledge check, DC 25 or 30). Otherwise, say if it was called "Sunmail" or something, that might provide to easy a clue.

Oh yeah, Pelor doesn't exist in the Realms. I'm not sure if you're running a Forgotten Realms game, or just mistook and/or decided to post your Greyhawk idea here, but if you ARE doing a Realms game then you might want to convert Pelor into Lathandar, who is pretty much the equivalent god here.

02-12-07, 07:35 PM sorry I actually made the post in the correct thread, i did not mean to place it here, but lets say that it was to Lathander, since they are fairly close to in most respects. So if there was a legendary piece of Armor for lathander, what would be a few good choice names?

02-20-07, 01:46 PM what about that artifact in the DMG Prator's Shield. You could call it Prator's Armor. Look in the DMG 3.5 for a little brief history on the character, but he supposedly fell in battle around the 3rd layer of hell but his shield has recently re-surfaced. Could be that his armor has as well and is now laying dorment until a new hero can carry it's epic mantle. The shield was described as having a huge sun motif which could explain the fallen paladin's deity (Pelor/Lathander). Also, it could set up a follow up quest to recover Prator's lost shield. Though, I must warn you that the shield is EXTREAMLY powerful and should be quested for around 20th if not epic levels. Just my two cents, hope it helped.
