I recently picked up a copy of the FRCS and I was intrigued when I read about an iconic character and his "moonblade". I was wondering, are there any actual stats on a moonblade?

You can find info in Magic of Faerun, or the 2ED accessory Elves of Evermeet!

but where can you find magic of faerun,

methinks there's more chance of finding teeth on hens, than magic of faerun in manchester.

Amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Faerun-Forgotten-Realms-Campaign-Option/dp/0786919647/ref=sr_1_1/026-9255321-3219625?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184868365&sr=8-1) might be a good start, just grad the 13 GBP as long as it's still avaible :)

The best place to find out about moonblades is Elaine Cunningham's novels, which introduced them.

Magie de Faerūn is available in France... in French language !
It's the good side of being late with translations and editions ! ;)

GEV don't be a party pooper. =)

Darkarcher736, I'd highly suggest that you read the novel Evermeet. It explains the history of the moonblades, which should be required knowledge for any DM considering a PC owned moonblade.

I wish my DM had that knowledge, and imparted upon me before he allowed me to have a PC running around with one. It would have made the blade all that much cooler. =)

Awesome! A 7.99 book compared to one costing 4 times as much is a plus. I will definatly check it out :)

Check your local library, they are likely to have the book. =)

Green Elven Vampire, there shouldn't be much of a problem anyway because they are only usable by the legitimate heir of a certain noble family who meets the ethical requirements of the blade.
(I think I'm right on this, correct me if I'm wrong)

Actually you can find the stats for a moonblade in the 3.0 edition of the Realms PH, they removed it from 3.5 for some reason and I don't know why, it is truly an interesting weapon.

Really!?! I have the 3.0 handbook, not the 3.5 "Guide to Faerun". What page are the stats?

It's in the 3ED book Magic of Faerun

-Correct. The Starym Moonblade is the only exception to this, and for special reasons.

Um, Each bearer is able to add a power via a rune, so the cumulative powers vary from Moonblade to Moonblade and the amount of users it had which can ad one more power each via a Rune (a Sword with only 3 past users would have up to 4 runes one with 127 past users can have up to 128 powers via 128 runes) except from the fact that a Moonblade chooses it's wielder and all it's powers won't come active for anyone else when it is dormant, and if Active not only is touching the Moonblade potentially fatal (as it attacks the unauthorized user), but if the Blade and it's chosen user is separated from each other the user weakens and dies and the blade goes dormant once again.

Of course a rune can lax the cleveats, such as Aryiln? putting a Rune on Her Moonblade allowing her friend the ability to use it.

Moonblades need not be made with + to hits/damage but most are at least of +3 Hit/damage enchanments and simply adding runes to up the damage potential is possible
