So I was looking through the Player's Guide to Faerun yesterday looking for feats for my new wizards and I happened to actually read the entry for Spellcasting Prodigy. According to the write-up, its only benefit is treating your prime spellcasting stat as 2 higher when determining bonus spells but NOT DC! The table still lists it as for both, but when the two contradict each other, you are supposed to go with the text. Has this been corrected anywhere? I checked the errata for the book and there is no fix listed.

Only for bonus spells is correct.

Compare to Spell Focus -- a feat that grants +1 to all spell DCs you cast would make SF obsolete.

I agree; however, you must take Spellcasting Prodigy at first level and all of the other first level only feats are generally significantly more powerful than standard feats.

Not to say that I disagree with your interpretation, because Spellcasting Prodigy was both a really good feat, but also isn't regional.
