Any info will be appreciated

First question: In 3.5 do prestige classes count when determining multiclassing xp penalties?

Second question: When determining cohort/henchman levels do you use your ecl or class level as the base?

Thanks

In the latest DMG printing -- the leatherbound Special Edition -- it correctly states that prestige class does not incur a multiclassing XP penalty.

Regarding the second question; without having a specific reference, but I assume there's one in the DMG somewhere close to the Leadership chart... I would say you use your ECL. I base that on the fact that, as has been clarified in the FAQ update, you use your ECL when determining when you become epic, so I don't see why you wouldn't use it for Leadership, as well.
