I'm hoping someone can please help me...

I'm trying to decide on 2 religions from the Forgotten Realms setting to put into that game that I am DMing. I want the 2 religions to have a history of conflict and fighting, 1 "good" and 1 "evil" religion. As far as a history of conflict, it doesn't have to be hundreds or thousands of years of fighting (although it could be), it could just be 10 or 20 years of fighting.

There are so many different deities and I'm not sure which ones would work well to be fighting against eachother. Any comments or suggestions would be great, thanks!

Oh, there are sooooo many..... But the oldest is the twin sisters, Selune and Shar, that goes back centuries, to pretty much the creation of Faerun.

You could also use Tymora and Beshaba, they dislike each other, ever since Tyche was split in half and become those two.

Talos has a lot of deity enemies also, Chauntea, Lathander, Mystra, Sune, Deneir, Gond, Helm, Mielikki, Oghma, Silvanus, Tyr, Eldath, Shialla.

Are you "cribbing" FR deities for your own homebrew, or are you playing the Realms with all the trappings?

If the former, Selune and Shar are perfect - you won't find a better example of "light vs. Dark"...

But if the latter, tons are availalbe; Torm and Bane, Tempus and Garagos, Lathander and Velsharoon, Tymora and Beshaba...

Don't forget one of the most violent and bloody rivalries between deities in recent memory -- Bane vs. Cyric!
