2E The Dalelands - by L.Richard Baker III ???? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-30-03, 12:19 PM I just got this item off ebay. Is L.Richard Baker III the same Richard Baker as the author of Condemnation (among other novel and gaming titles)????

If so, why the removal of L. and III???
If not, who is it, and what's the relationship, if any??

09-03-03, 03:52 PM Yes, that's me. My full name is Lynn Richard Baker III. So, when I first came up in the business (back in 1991) I used L. Richard Baker III for my pen name.

However, my coworkers, who all just call me Rich, kept crediting me as Rich Baker in other places. So a few years ago I decided to "standardize" my proper credit as just Richard Baker in order to end the proliferation of different versions of my name on things I write.

Of course, I would have thought twice about that if I'd searched Amazon on "Richard Baker." There's something like thirty folks who publish under that name, ranging from psychologists to Buddhist monks. Go figure.
