There was some sort of pdf-file available once as a download, but as we are in 3RE or 3,5 times, this must have been removed. You can try to scan the download section around the date 2000 when 3E came into being. I might have it somewhere as well, but don't ask me where ;) Essentially, the characters keep their stats and levels, adjusted by the new bonus system. Dual class chaps become Multiclassed ones (there is no distinction any longer), Multiclassed ones gain full HP for their HD (not divided by classes) YET, the total number of classes is important as well. Thus, Multiclassed people's classes are divided by three according to the following method: Ftr 10 -> Ftr 10 Ftr 6 / Wiz 4 -> keep 6 from Ftr + 4/3 (Wiz) -> total character levels 7.* Ftr 4 / Wiz 4 / Th 4 -> keep 4 from Ftr + 4/3 (Wiz) + 4/3 (Th) -> total character levels 6.* *distribute these character levels amongst the former classes as you see fit. Note: I cannot understand the official ruling that each dual- or multiclass level must be divided by 3. I would agree that this holds true for three-class-characters, but two-classed ones should be divided by 2. Anyway, just make sure that your folks will have character levels within one or two levels from one another (remember ECL for "better" races like tieflings, drow or the like) and everything will be fine. |

Look at my post on this thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=114338) I have tried looking through the wizards archive for it but had no luck. |
