hi people i'm trying to brush up older and more tried and true lore for the realms so could anyone tell me where to find old edition books for the forgotten realms excluding the downloads section of the wizards website

In particular the complete book of elves would be useful

You can try nobleknight.com and dragontrove.com for printed copies.

And there's always paizo.com for FR PDFs at just $4US.

Note that PHBR8 The Complete Book of Elves isn't a Realms source, though parts of it have been incorporated into Realmslore.

Ebay. So far I've purchased most of my wotc stuff from Ebay. Just last week I paid $80 US dollars (about 40 pounds! - Including delivery to London, UK) for:

Forgotten Realms Lords of Darkness
Forgotten Realms Magic of Faerun
Forgotten Realms Silver Marches
Forgotten Realms Shining South
Forgotten Realms Champions of Ruin

They are all new and still wrapped.

As for 2nd ed stuff - you can find LOADS, and it's even cheaper!!

-That's how I feel at this moment. That damned 3e Draconomicon book almost cost $88.00 by itself! It was worth all the money I paid for it, but still...

I went out and bought some stuff off of amazon.com for a reasonable price.

Errrrr...

There are 'alternative methods', ya' know. ;)

Not that I do that, of course... as long as it's current and I can still buy it in a store somewhere.

I have the 2e Draconomicon, and feel there really isn't much need FOR ME to update, since I barely cracked the covers of that.

I do so want a copy of Old Empires and The Moonshaes, however, so I might have to break out the old crdit card for a few downloads. :(

The best place to buy D&D books is Wal-Mart.com. I got Complete Mage shipping an all for $21.00. Ebay is great and so is Amazon. And the good old hobby shops.

-Yeah, well, there is also the fact that that's...well, pseudoillegal. Not that I do that...:incog:

2.2Gb of PDF's. 1st ed, 2nd ed and 3.x ed everything. Wotc are just damned lucky I don't like reading 'on screen'!

I said nothing of downloading in my post what-so-ever, and would never condone such a thing!

Didn't your folks ever teach you to NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!? :D
