| Lord Karsus12-17-07, 01:52 AM | -Hey, everyone. It's your friendly, neighborhood Supreme Overlord of the New Jersey Forgotten Realms Coffee Club here! :) -We're currently planning a meeting for Saturday, January 5th, 2008, from 7:30 PM till whenever, at the Florham Park Starbucks. -For those of you who do not know, we are a group that was recently formed. Basically, our mission statement is to discuss the Forgotten Realms in a warm, quiet (mostly), friendly setting, over a cup of coffee, or any other assorted beverages! -We draw members from Central and North Jersey, as well as New York City. If you are from any of those areas, and are interested in coming, but can't due to transportation issues, let us know, and we'll try to work something out. -Right now, as we don't have very many members, it's all very informal. However, with more members comes more legitimacy. So, here's some incentive to come: If we get enough people to show up, I'll make everyone nifty NJ-FR-CC cards. Hows that for nice, eh? :D (-By the way, feel free to bring guests!) -So, if you're in the area and would like to spend the evening discussing the Realms with fellow enthusiasts, please, come on down (or up, left, or right, depending on where exactly you are)! Yes: Johnkretzer msatran Lord Karsus Rino Maybe: Blubbering Humdinger MerrikCale DMD Diffan No: DM Shonuff GothicDan |

| msatran12-17-07, 03:54 AM | Yeah. They have to have little check marks on them like "Old enough to drink" and "Old enough to remember the Seldarine." We can have a special membership level for "Cyric? Who's that?" |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin12-17-07, 10:36 AM | Count me in!:D |
| Alediran12-17-07, 11:02 AM | If I wasn't on the other side of the world I would gladly go. |
| OrderofUhlrik12-17-07, 03:32 PM | You wouldn't consider picking someone up in Kentucky would you? >.> <.< |
| johnkretzer12-17-07, 03:43 PM | You wouldn't consider picking someone up in Kentucky would you? >.> <.< You got the money for gas?...and lunch and dinner...? and maybe some other things. I'll consider it. Though it would probably be a no. :D |
| DMD12-17-07, 03:47 PM | I will try to catch up with you in February. I am gaming every weekend in January!! 2ED and 3.5ED. :D |
| Lord Karsus12-17-07, 04:30 PM | What about the whip weilding robots or are those a surprise? :P -Shh...Those were supposed to be a surprise!! Count me in!:D -Excellent. If I wasn't on the other side of the world I would gladly go. -Argentina...Jersey...They're practically right next to each other! ;) You wouldn't consider picking someone up in Kentucky would you? >.> <.< -Don't you think it's about time to take that vacation to New York, and by proxy, Jersey? :P I will try to catch up with you in February. I am gaming every weekend in January!! -Bring 'em along then! :) |
| 18DELTA12-17-07, 05:22 PM | If I wasn't on the other side of the world I would gladly go. Couldn't you just Teleport there?;) To bad you guy's and gals are not around Texas. I would so be there. Yet I would probably be working that day/night anyway.:P |
| Alediran12-17-07, 07:16 PM | Couldn't you just Teleport there?;) I'm not versed in distance magic. |
| DM_Shonuff12-17-07, 07:45 PM | I tried to make it to the first one guys, I was really excited about meeting alot of you, but alas, I could not escape Philly. But now, I am back on this little Chultan Island in the South pacific, (with volcanoes and jungles and lava and everything!) and can't make it. DM Shonuff for the NO. |
| MerrikCale12-17-07, 09:00 PM | I shall try, but it is rather unlikely. Thats my 38th birthday so chances are that I will either a. be doing something my wife has planned, b. chasin after my children, or c. drinking myself silly over depression |
| 18DELTA12-17-07, 11:21 PM | I'm not versed in distance magic. Darn thems the breaks huh?;) |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 12:32 AM | I shall try, but it is rather unlikely. Thats my 38th birthday so chances are that I will either a. be doing something my wife has planned, b. chasin after my children, or c. drinking myself silly over depression -We'll throw that "My Little Ponies" party for you, or whatever is was. |
| Karsus the Mad12-18-07, 12:36 AM | Well, if you pay me that 10,000gp I leant you last century (or the one before), it might be enough to get a ticket from Oulu. |
| johnkretzer12-18-07, 12:44 AM | You guys do know it is the NJ-FR-CC right I mean start your own states FR-CC....I mean heck I don't know why we are letting the NYers in...:P (This was a joke all are welcome...of course NJ is the only cool state to have it's own FR-CC :P ) |
| Karsus the Mad12-18-07, 12:47 AM | You guys do know it is the NJ-FR-CC right I mean start your own states FR-CC....I mean heck I don't know why we are letting the NYers in...:P (This was a joke all are welcome...of course NJ is the only cool state to have it's own FR-CC :P ) I meet the requirements by default simply being KtM:embarrass |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 12:54 AM | ....I mean heck I don't know why we are letting the NYers in...:P -This coming from the guy that voted me Supreme Overlord. ;) I meet the requirements by default simply being KtM:embarrass -It's true. LtM, by default, is also LK. And, LK is in NY. Thus, membership also extends to KtM. |
| johnkretzer12-18-07, 12:58 AM | -This coming from the guy that voted me Supreme Overlord. ;) Well it was a slow night and you promised all kinds of benefits... -It's true. LtM, by default, is also LK. And, LK is in NY. Thus, membership also extends to KtM. So would that mean since LK is going to be there that by extension KtM going be there also? See you can make it KtM...because LK is going to be there. |
| Karsus the Mad12-18-07, 01:02 AM | So would that mean since LK is going to be there that by extension KtM going be there also? See you can make it KtM...because LK is going to be there. I'll have a Kopi Luwak:whatsthis |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 01:16 AM | Well it was a slow night and you promised all kinds of benefits... -Then watch your mouth, lest you be the first victim of my legion of robots with whips! :D I'll have a Kopi Luwak:whatsthis -Don't know what that is, but I'll dedicate my coffee to you. |
| Karsus the Mad12-18-07, 01:26 AM | -Don't know what that is, but I'll dedicate my coffee to you. It's essentially poop coffee. Rarest coffee in the world, and not that bad, despite the natural....process....it goes through. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 01:29 AM | It's essentially poop coffee. Rarest coffee in the world, and not that bad, despite the natural....process....it goes through. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak -Oh, those! :lightbulb -I think we've had this conversation before...:embarrass |
| GreenKnight12-18-07, 02:04 AM | It's quite dizzying watching the two of you talking to... yourselves. |
| Reneshat12-18-07, 02:05 AM | So what would be the likelihood of being able to coordinate a summer vacation to NY and an NJ-FR-CC get together? |
| johnkretzer12-18-07, 06:43 AM | So what would be the likelihood of being able to coordinate a summer vacation to NY and an NJ-FR-CC get together? Pretty good I would hope |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus12-18-07, 12:29 PM | Why you Guys have to plan thins when I'm here? (not that I'll choose NJ-FR-CC over HOT girls in bikinnies but You know what I mean...) |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin12-18-07, 12:38 PM | There will be hot girls at this meeting. Myself, for instance.:) I won't be wearing a bikini though. Too cold. |
| MerrikCale12-18-07, 12:44 PM | There will be hot girls at this meeting. hmmmm....this may not be such a bad b-day after all |
| Alediran12-18-07, 12:46 PM | I won't be wearing a bikini though. Too cold. There is a solution to this problem. Come to the other side of the world. In Buenos Aires we are burning alive :P |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin12-18-07, 01:38 PM | I can't wait to come to the meeting!:) |
| GreenKnight12-18-07, 02:41 PM | There will be hot girls at this meeting. Myself, for instance. :) Apropos of nothing, anyone planning on taking pics at this meet? ;) |
| Alediran12-18-07, 03:08 PM | Apropos of nothing, anyone planning on taking pics at this meet? ;) Please do it. I want to know my fellow realmsians on the other side of the world. I'll post an image of me if you do. |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 03:17 PM | So what would be the likelihood of being able to coordinate a summer vacation to NY and an NJ-FR-CC get together? -I don't know. You tell me. We'll be here. Why you Guys have to plan thins when I'm here? (not that I'll choose NJ-FR-CC over HOT girls in bikinnies but You know what I mean...) -Pshhh. Screw this. Where are you? Wait for me! :D |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 03:18 PM | Apropos of nothing, anyone planning on taking pics at this meet? ;) -Sure, I don't think anyone'll be opposed to a group pic. |
| DMD12-18-07, 06:51 PM | Heh. I could bring all the players and make all of you run my NPC's. :D Although come to think of it we may not be playing on January 5, maybe I could make it....... Are we meeting at the sameplace as last time? Anyone hear from Craig BTW? |
| Lord Karsus12-18-07, 09:50 PM | Are we meeting at the sameplace as last time? -Yeah, the Starbucks in Florham Park. Anyone hear from Craig BTW? -Nope. He hasn't had any activity since his last post. |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus12-19-07, 01:43 AM | There will be hot girls at this meeting. Myself, for instance.:) I won't be wearing a bikini though. Too cold. Ah Indeed.:) You gotta love my island, neverending summer:D Anyways... can you guys let me prepare this like 3 weeks ahead of time(so I can Get my Leave form done and aproved) |
| Blibbering_Humdinger12-19-07, 05:00 AM | I'm hoping I'll make it. If they let me go from Wal-Mart, as I hope they will (by the gods, the pet department is boring). I'll see if I can schedule a day off that Saturday, in any case... |
| Fingoldfin12-19-07, 11:14 AM | I'm hoping I'll make it. If they let me go from Wal-Mart, as I hope they will (by the gods, the pet department is boring). I'll see if I can schedule a day off that Saturday, in any case... You should bring back the hamster avatar. :) |
| Lord Karsus12-19-07, 01:44 PM | You should bring back the hamster avatar. :) -Seconded. You were easy to identity with it. |
| johnkretzer12-19-07, 03:14 PM | You should bring back the hamster avatar. :) Third...and it isn't being used by someone else... |
| Lord Karsus12-19-07, 03:37 PM | Ah Indeed.:) You gotta love my island, neverending summer:D Anyways... can you guys let me prepare this like 3 weeks ahead of time(so I can Get my Leave form done and aproved) -I'd hang on with that. If we have a good turnout at this meeting, and we actual have a decent base membership, maybe we'll have a prescheduled schedule, or something like that, like the "first saturday of the month", or something along those lines. |
| MerrikCale12-19-07, 05:28 PM | -Seconded. You were easy to identity with it. fourthed....I recall getting scolded when I changed my avatar |
| Karsus the Mad12-19-07, 06:54 PM | I'm hoping I'll make it. If they let me go from Wal-Mart, as I hope they will (by the gods, the pet department is boring). I'll see if I can schedule a day off that Saturday, in any case... You work for Wal-Mart? My utter and complete sympathy. I once worked there a few years ago (along with Target, trying to scratch up cash for a plane ticket) right after my 365 day ban ended. Also pet department. Luckily, I was the supervisor, so I could tell the other poor sods to do my job:D I just had to look after cute fishies:P But dear lord was it boring as hell regardless. Good luck to you getting out! You should bring back the hamster avatar. That also confoozled me with Wooly Rupert....... |
| MerrikCale12-19-07, 08:28 PM | I'm hoping I'll make it. If they let me go from Wal-Mart, as I hope they will (by the gods, the pet department is boring). I'll see if I can schedule a day off that Saturday, in any case... which wal-mart? |
| Karsus the Mad12-19-07, 08:49 PM | which wal-mart? If he burns them all down, does it matter? |
| Blibbering_Humdinger12-20-07, 12:14 AM | You work for Wal-Mart? My utter and complete sympathy. I once worked there a few years ago (along with Target, trying to scratch up cash for a plane ticket) right after my 365 day ban ended. Also pet department. Luckily, I was the supervisor, so I could tell the other poor sods to do my job:D I just had to look after cute fishies:P But dear lord was it boring as hell regardless. Good luck to you getting out! We don't have any cute fishies in our department. T_T Just petfood and fishtanks. And rawhide bones that could pass for an orc tribe's entire armory, too, in honor of the holidays. Stupid idiots didn't know how to package them, tho'--they all broke their hanger tabs by sheer weight alone, and we had to stack the UPCs next to the pile so the cashiers could check the things out when people bought 'em. -_-' Yeah, that's about the most exciting thing that's ever happened in my secluded li'l four-aisle corner of the store. It looks like Katrina swept through when I come into work, but nothing ever actually happens while I'm there... I don't mind working at Wal-Mart. Making $8.20 at a rate of 30-40 hours a week is like being a king compared to my previous employment experiences (which is sad, but hey, I'm too academically challenged to go through college, so I s'pose I'll have to get my hands dirty for a good while before I can carve out a comfortable spot on this rock we call a home planet, eh?). I half-hope they let me go only because I absolutely detest working in retail. Can't much stomach working with customers, actually. It feels like they're out to get you half the time. Like they derive some sort of sadistic pleasure from being unreasonable, impatient, and unreasonably impatient. And sloppy. Let's not forget what slobs customers are. What possesses them to leave DVDs, screwdrivers, videogames, computer parts, women's underthings, and acoustic guitars in the catfood aisle, anyway?! And why do they always have to open up the boxes and examine everything? Could they at least have the decency to put it back properly, or in the case of a certain jewelry box I once rescued on my way back from lunch, back in the box at all? ...Maybe they're such slobs because none of 'em have actually worked in retail. Hm. Ignorance must be bliss... Responding to Cale: I work at the Cinnaminson Wal-Mart on Route 130. I'm the gloomy-looking dude with brown hair that falls long enough to get in the way of my eyes most of the time, if you ever happen to pass through. Regarding my miniature giant space hamster: I'll be bringing it back in a week or two. This current moniker is in honor of my current Black Adder kick, which will inevitably die away into obscurity like all my other three-week obsessions (actually, I'm already two seasons through my newly-bought DBZ DVD collection, so it may already be dead...). Boo has gone on holiday; he'll be back, and he'll bring Minsc with him! :P |
| Lord Karsus12-20-07, 12:39 AM | which wal-mart? -The one with Elves of Faerūn. actually, I'm already two seasons through my newly-bought DBZ DVD collection, so it may already be dead...) -Ah, good ol' DBZ. Memories... |
| Blibbering_Humdinger12-20-07, 12:52 AM | -The one with Elves of Faerūn. -Ah, good ol' DBZ. Memories... I'm just now getting into the Climactic Season-Long Final Penultimate Battle with the Alien Named After A Kitchen Appliance (i.e. The Frieza Saga). It's been a couple of years since I've seen these. It'll be nice to see it again with all the blood, guts, and D-words restored, and without all of that "different dimension" silliness... (even as a naive little boy I recognized that as cheesy kid-friendly editing intended to indoctrinate our developing minds with the insane idea that human beings are immortal... no wonder we all think we'll be nineteen forever, and then freak when our hairline recedes). |
| Lord Karsus12-20-07, 12:59 AM | -What, you didn't like HFIL, the Home for Infinite Losers? I think I might just make that a plane in my cosmology...:P |
| Blibbering_Humdinger12-20-07, 01:04 AM | -What, you didn't like HFIL, the Home for Infinite Losers? I think I might just make that a plane in my cosmology...:P Actually, I kinda liked that bit of editing. Fairly amusing, that was. But it felt condescending to be told that Nappa, having been vaporized, had been "sent to a different dimension" rather than simply "vaporized." Felt like being told that I was dropped down our house's chimney in a bag by a stork, to be brutally blunt... |
| Lord Karsus12-20-07, 01:23 AM | -Well...Dead is akin to being in a different dimension. And, in keeping with DBZ...'canon', he was very much in a different dimension, as we see and hear from him again, I believe, when all the bad guys start a riot in Hell. |
| Lord Karsus12-20-07, 10:39 PM | -Do any of you guys use Facebook? I use it to keep track of a lot of the things that I do, so if anyone else uses it, I can send you a reminder thingy. Anyone? |
| Blibbering_Humdinger12-20-07, 11:33 PM | -Well...Dead is akin to being in a different dimension. And, in keeping with DBZ...'canon', he was very much in a different dimension, as we see and hear from him again, I believe, when all the bad guys start a riot in Hell. Yes, yes, but being told by the narrator that Vegeta "sent him to a different dimension" just to avoid mentioning the words "kill," "death," or "dead" is a bit much. But maybe that's just because I have a very strong aversion to being patronized. But this is off-track. :embarrass Back to discussing the coffee club! |
| Alediran12-21-07, 07:10 AM | Strange, in the spanish version it was translated as kill, not dimensioned. |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin12-21-07, 11:08 AM | -Do any of you guys use Facebook? Not me. :embarrass But, I don't think I'll forget this meeting! |
| msatran12-21-07, 11:42 AM | The funny thing was that "Sent to another dimension" scared me more. Here's why. "He hit him so hard he killed him!" I've seen that before. "He hit him so hard that he warped the fabric of reality, sent this guy into another dimension, and somehow, he LIVED?" That's creepy! |
| MerrikCale12-23-07, 12:34 PM | -Do any of you guys use Facebook? I use it to keep track of a lot of the things that I do, so if anyone else uses it, I can send you a reminder thingy. Anyone? I'm not down with the facebook thing, sorry |

| johnkretzer12-26-07, 02:25 AM | Yes: Johnkretzer msatran Lord Karsus Lord Karsus' Girlfriend Karsus the Mad (In spirit) Rino What this is it so far? Come one people leave your computers and breath the fresh N.J. air( um...alright bring gas masks ;) ). We aren't that bad people...well LK and msatran might be but I am a nice guy. ;) Really honest. :D Hey does you girlfriend play D&D, LK? Just curious. |

Dan's already in Jersey, but he doesn't have a car, and MT is at the far end of Long Island, but can drive. I'm gonna PM them both, and see what I can do. Hey does you girlfriend play D&D, LK? Just curious. -She plays what I like to call "butterflies, and zebras, and moonbeams D&D". She plays D&D, but prefers..."cute". When I ran a campaign for her specifically, it was in a mystical forest, with Fey and Sylvan creatures abound. She liked that. On the other hand, the campaign I am running currently is a "normal" D&D campaign- she enjoys it, but sometimes loses interest. -She's not very technical, but she enjoys the role playing. |

Heh, sounds kinda like my wife. She's getting alot better since she's started playing with us about 2 years ago and is currently running her own campaign. Any idea how far it is from Pittsburgh to NJ? Last I went to Philly it took roughtly 6 hrs as the Diffan drives, so much further from there? I'd be really nice to meet alot of you guys/gals I see on the boards. |

I'd be really nice to meet alot of you guys/gals I see on the boards. -My Step-Father has a brother in a suburb outside of Pittsburg, and when he drives, it's a good six-seven hours from here (NY). He does drive slow (if you ask me), though. But, either way, it is quite of a drive. While it would be cool to have you, I wouldn't recommend it. A six hour drive, just to hang out a few hours, only to have another six hour drive ahead of you. I wouldn't want to do something like that to someone. I go crazy commuting a measley (comparativley) hour-and-a-half to school back and forth. If you had a reason to "be in the neighborhood", though... -And, as a side note, my girlfriend has canceled on us. She don't want to come. I didn't invite her the first time, and she got all pissy, so I plan on her comming this time, and she tells me she doesn't want to...Girls, what can I say? :P |

Well, if I can somehow convince my wife to go on a road trip with a friend or two to pay for gas/motel room.....I'll see what I can do. We've driven 4-5 hours for crazier things like amusement parks (aka Ceder Point) twice this summer so who knows. Count me on the maybe list :D |
| Lord Karsus12-28-07, 09:51 AM | -Sure can do. Good luck with that. :) |

LK, that's nothing, in 2004 I made a 19 hours bus trip from Puerto Madryn to Buenos Aires to see Nightwish and 19 hours again to return. That was in 2 days. Of course, that is one of the reason I have to move. I didn't want to make that kind of trips every time a band I like played here. |
| sn0wcrash12-28-07, 11:32 AM | I am in upstate NY- Ithaca to be precise, would be a long drive alone, but I will ask around if I can find someone to tag along... |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin12-28-07, 11:46 AM | -And, as a side note, my girlfriend has canceled on us. She don't want to come. Sorry to hear that though, I was hoping to meet her. |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 11:50 AM | You're all sissies. I'm road tripping to Seattle. Ha. I'd say pray for me, but I'd be offended. Consequently, that's also one of the reasons I can't even consider making it to this. Trip with real life best friends to visit possible grad schools sadly trumps D&D. Barely. ;) |

| Lord Karsus12-28-07, 01:00 PM | -Yeah, I was going to say something, but maybe not now. |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 01:02 PM | Say it! |
| Karsus the Mad12-28-07, 01:08 PM | -Eh, whaddya gonna do? She's all angry at me for reasons unknown, so... Meh. Women don't need a reason to put us in our place. |
| Lord Karsus12-28-07, 01:16 PM | Say it! -Maybe later. I haven't slept for...26 hours now, went through that entire debacle I mentioned earlier, and am hungry. Watch, I'll say something dumb. |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 01:23 PM | Too late. |
| Lord Karsus12-28-07, 01:31 PM | Too late. :rimshot: -Get outta here, Mr. Bigshot, with your "real friends"! |
| Karsus the Mad12-28-07, 01:32 PM | -Maybe later. I haven't slept for...26 hours now, went through that entire debacle I mentioned earlier, and am hungry. Watch, I'll say something dumb. 26? That's all? You're tougher than that. You can go at least 72 hours and remain relatively coherent. Your Con score is 19 afterall. |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 01:33 PM | They're wonderful people. I love them. LOVE. I can discuss Latin, Roman history, Linear Algebra, String Theory, Geography, Evolution, Philosophy, Poetry, Literature, etc. with them all at once. I LOVE THEM. |
| Karsus the Mad12-28-07, 01:35 PM | Ah, but do they in turn understand the discussion of Latin, Roman history, Linear Algebra, String Theory, Geography, Evolution, Philosophy, Poetry, Literature, etc?;) |
| Lord Karsus12-28-07, 01:37 PM | -But you can't discuss Faerūn with them, not like you can here. Just don't forget that... |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 01:38 PM | Mr. The Mad: For the most part, yes. One friend's a Math Major and double Physics and Comp Sci Minor, with 1 class away from being a Latin Minor. I'm a Physics Major with double Minors in Math and Latin. We're basically slightly different clones. Mr. the Not Mad Karsus: One of them almost can. And he can discuss the wonders of 2E with me. |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 01:39 PM | Longest I've gone without sleep is about 90 hours. I started going blind, couldn't move right, and couldn't speak. |
| Karsus the Mad12-28-07, 01:43 PM | Well, thank you Mr. GD. You just had to go and make me envious. The only thing I can discuss with the people around here is hockey....:weep: And I hate hockey.... |
| Alediran12-28-07, 01:44 PM | Longest I've gone without sleep is about 90 hours. I started going blind, couldn't move right, and couldn't speak. Only once in my life I stayed awake more than 24 hours. And when I don't sleep at least 8 hours straight I feel the consecuences. OF course, I have an awfull 8 CON. |
| Karsus the Mad12-28-07, 01:50 PM | Longest I've gone without sleep is about 90 hours. I started going blind, couldn't move right, and couldn't speak. That's bad. The most I went was around that (plus or minus a few, I worked 12 shifts straight) when the manager, assistant manager, and 3 cashier workers walked out, on the same day. I wasn't going blind, at least I don't recall sight problems, but I couldn't move accurately and made silly sounds and kept rearranging the storage room. I always figured it was the half dozen packs of caffeine pills I downed. |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 02:10 PM | I had amphetamines. It made it easier for the first half, and absolutely terrible during the second half.... ENVY MY FRIENDS! WHAHAHA. |
| Karsus the Mad12-28-07, 02:22 PM | I had amphetamines. It made it easier for the first half, and absolutely terrible during the second half.... Did you start "wiggling"? Not physically wiggle, but just everything seemed to be tilting every which way when you tried walking? Or when you tried to grab something, like a cup of coffee, your hand was several inches off target? Weird stuff sleep dep is. Fascinating of course, but weird. ENVY MY FRIENDS! WHAHAHA. Nah. I don't envy mortals;) Tho' I do envy the ability to have a bloody intelligent conversation. The best I've been able to do here is an attempt to explain the basics of human augmentation. It then devolves into being stared at for a few moments, a rather smelly belch, then a weezing "You ike hockey? Whaz yer favrit tim?". *shrugs* not much longer before I'm out of here:evillaugh |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 09:37 PM | Did you start "wiggling"? Not physically wiggle, but just everything seemed to be tilting every which way when you tried walking? Or when you tried to grab something, like a cup of coffee, your hand was several inches off target? Weird stuff sleep dep is. Fascinating of course, but weird. YES. It felt like my eyes were pulsing slightly. |
| MerrikCale12-28-07, 10:02 PM | -I didn't invite her the first time, and she got all pissy, so I plan on her comming this time, and she tells me she doesn't want to...Girls, what can I say? :P I know. My 10th wedding anniversary is coming in October so believe me I know. Sometimes I envy GothicDan |
| GothicDan12-28-07, 10:20 PM | That's right. Envy me. |
| Lord Karsus12-29-07, 01:20 AM | Sometimes I envy GothicDan -Come on, think about what you're saying here. You have been married for ten years, though... |
| GothicDan12-29-07, 10:27 AM | Yeah! I can't even GET married! Don't think I'd want to, anyway. It seems so.. Straight. |
| Lord Karsus12-29-07, 10:36 AM | Yeah! I can't even GET married! -Mass. isn't very far. |
| GothicDan12-29-07, 10:47 AM | It will be when I move to Seattle. But can't you get civil unions in CA? |
| Alediran12-29-07, 11:13 AM | It will be when I move to Seattle. But can't you get civil unions in CA? You can marry in Uruguay, a country that limits with Argentina, they became the first country in latin america to allow homosexual marriage. |
| GothicDan12-29-07, 11:15 AM | Huh, I know nothing about Uruguay. |
| MarkusTay6312-29-07, 11:22 AM | Ur-a-gay? That coincidence is just too funny for me to ignore... :P Thinking about LK's offer... I just found out I'm not working that day... :plotting: |
| Alediran12-29-07, 11:29 AM | Huh, I know nothing about Uruguay. That's why you have Wikipedia and Google. |
| Lord Karsus12-29-07, 12:09 PM | Ur-a-gay? That coincidence is just too funny for me to ignore... :P -Nice. Thinking about LK's offer... I just found out I'm not working that day... :plotting: -It would be awesome to have you there. |
| MerrikCale12-29-07, 01:09 PM | -Mass. isn't very far. there is also Hawaii |
| Lord Karsus12-29-07, 01:15 PM | there is also Hawaii -That is a little far away. You could mutitask, however, and have a ceremony and a honeymoon at the same time. |
| MerrikCale12-29-07, 01:16 PM | -That is a little far away. You could mutitask, however, and have a ceremony and a honeymoon at the same time. there ya go |
| Diffan12-29-07, 02:58 PM | -That is a little far away. You could mutitask, however, and have a ceremony and a honeymoon at the same time. It's not that far away from Seattle, just a hop-skip-jump across the pool. BTW- Go Seahawks! :w00t: |
| MarkusTay6301-02-08, 01:07 AM | So, who's going to this shin-dig? |
| Karsus the Mad01-02-08, 01:33 AM | Yeah! I can't even GET married! Don't think I'd want to, anyway. It seems so.. Straight. Ya might want to, even if just for the legal benefits. Would WA even recognize it tho? So, who's going to this shin-dig? It pretty much goes without saying, but I don't think I'll make it in person. I'll be there in spirit. Hell, I might even follow through with my threat to LK to call that particular Star Bucks and complain about a certain gathering of people:D It's just I might already be passed out around my 3:30am. |
| Lord Karsus01-02-08, 07:24 AM | So, who's going to this shin-dig? -The list of RSVPs is on page one. Hell, I might even follow through with my threat to LK to call that particular Star Bucks and complain about a certain gathering of people:D It's just I might already be passed out around my 3:30am. -3:30 AM. It's not worth John being pummeled over...:P |
| Karsus the Mad01-02-08, 11:42 AM | -3:30 AM. It's not worth John being pummeled over... It might be.... Since I can't be there in person, I might as well call:P I have the number:D |
| MarkusTay6301-02-08, 11:58 AM | Where's the nearest station to your house, LK? If I go, I'll have to take a train to Brooklyn. Fortunetly, there is a train station very close to my house (we are not exactly as 'countrified' as some of you 'city-slickers' might think). ;) Although I hate Starbucks more then most other companies, and that saying A LOT. |
| GothicDan01-02-08, 12:25 PM | Mmmm, Starbucks. It's one of the preferred stalking grounds for my people. The passion fruit iced tea is fantastic. |
| Lord Karsus01-02-08, 12:29 PM | Where's the nearest station to your house, LK? If I go, I'll have to take a train to Brooklyn. Fortunetly, there is a train station very close to my house (we are not exactly as 'countrified' as some of you 'city-slickers' might think). ;) -How this? My girlfriend lives on the border of Nassau/Queens, a few blocks from the Rosedale LIRR station. If you are serious about comming, I can pick you up from there. |
| MarkusTay6301-02-08, 01:14 PM | What time we talking here? According to the LIRR schedule, I'd have to leave at 12:43 at night to be in Rosedale by 9:00 AM! (There's no direct-connect from Ronkonkoma to Rosedale - I'd have to switch at Jaimaca) |
| msatran01-02-08, 03:08 PM | If you make it, it will be great to see you there. |
| MarkusTay6301-02-08, 05:10 PM | Sure, we can commiserate together. :D Or as LK would say, Kvetch a lot. :P |
| johnkretzer01-02-08, 07:08 PM | What time we talking here? According to the LIRR schedule, I'd have to leave at 12:43 at night to be in Rosedale by 9:00 AM! (There's no direct-connect from Ronkonkoma to Rosedale - I'd have to switch at Jaimaca) Start time usualy around 7....end time whenever you want to leave. |
| Asgetrion01-02-08, 07:43 PM | I like that you guys are organizing meetings such as these -- I wish we had more active FR fans in my home town, too. Well, I know some, but I wouldn't really want to spend an evening with them. ;) Of course, I have my own group but that doesn't really count. |
| MarkusTay6301-02-08, 07:54 PM | Start time usualy around 7....end time whenever you want to leave.7 Am or PM? |
| MerrikCale01-02-08, 09:02 PM | Mmmm, Starbucks. It's one of the preferred stalking grounds for my people. The passion fruit iced tea is fantastic. when you say "my people", do mean physicists? Its too bad by the way that Starbucks can't make a decent cup of plain old coffee |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 12:31 AM | What time we talking here? According to the LIRR schedule, I'd have to leave at 12:43 at night to be in Rosedale by 9:00 AM! (There's no direct-connect from Ronkonkoma to Rosedale - I'd have to switch at Jaimaca) -Hmm...You're right. That does seem to be a problem... Sure, we can commiserate together. :D Or as LK would say, Kvetch a lot. :P -Oh, come on. When have I actually used kvetch in a sentence? |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 12:33 AM | What time we talking here? When have I actually used kvetch in a sentence? when you say "my people", do mean physicists? -People, my people... |
| MarkusTay6301-03-08, 01:37 AM | So, is it AM or PM? Maybe I can get a ride to the Patchogue line and take a direct. -Oh, come on. When have I actually used kvetch in a sentence?Never, but I thought it was funny. :P 90% of my customers were Jewish, along with at least 1/2 my relatives (mostly on my wife's side), and all four of my sons had brisses, not baptisms. So yeah, I know a little yiddish. ;) You're such a mench... |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 01:43 AM | So, is it AM or PM? -PM. We're meeting from about 7 PM to whenever it is we get sick of each other. You're such a mench... -And you're such a :censored:. -I know French! :P  |
| MarkusTay6301-03-08, 01:47 AM | Ah... the PM thing helps quite a bit, I'll check the schedule again in the morning - on the weekends there are not a lot of trains running early, but a decent amount later. It should be no problem now. :D Looking forward to putting some faces to the names. What IS your name, anyway!? I just realized I'm getting in a car for a really long ride with a guy who's real name I don't know... talk about your Internet no-no's. At last I don't have to worry about being molested... I think. |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 01:50 AM | What IS your name, anyway!? I just realized I'm getting in a car for a really long ride with a guy who's real name I don't know... talk about your Internet no-no's. At last I don't have to worry about being molested... I think.  -Steve. It's Steve. -I posted a picture of myself somewhere around here, 'case KtM wanted to see what was under the hood. It's around here somewhere... |
| msatran01-03-08, 04:47 AM | Uhm, "Under the Hood" is more for Dan than it is for KTM, dude. :) Are you SURE you want to use those words? |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-03-08, 09:56 AM | I use "kvetch" in real life, just because I like the word.:) |
| msatran01-03-08, 10:35 AM | Oy Vey...A Shiksa who speaks Yiddish! |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 12:16 PM | -So, is everyone ready for Saturday? Are any of those undecideds decided yet? |
| DMD01-03-08, 01:47 PM | I am still undecided. I will know in the evening. Have fun if I do not make it. If I do go, is there a particular spot that was chosen last game? |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 02:01 PM | Starbucks 184 Columbia Tpke Florham Park, NJ 7932 -I'm also thinking, if the place is busy, or if we want to, perhaps we can all grab dinner. The place is in a shopping center place, and I remember seeing at least a Chinese Food place nearby. |
| MerrikCale01-03-08, 03:02 PM | Starbucks 184 Columbia Tpke Florham Park, NJ 7932 -I'm also thinking, if the place is busy, or if we want to, perhaps we can all grab dinner. The place is in a shopping center place, and I remember seeing at least a Chinese Food place nearby. there is also a Panera bread across the street |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 03:24 PM | -Uh...Bread is good. |
| MarkusTay6301-03-08, 05:12 PM | Just point me in the direction of a Dairy Queen - we haven't had those around here since the 70's. :( -Steve. It's Steve.Thats right! You used to sign your PMs when we first started talking. Mine's just Mark, BTW. I started using 'Markus' as part of my screename when I first got AOL way back when, and "MarkTay" was already taken. Now I still use it on every site I visit. |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 06:08 PM | Just point me in the direction of a Dairy Queen - we haven't had those around here since the 70's. :( -I've never actually even seen a Dairy Queen, let alone been to a Dairy Queen, though I see their commercials all the time. |
| MarkusTay6301-03-08, 06:58 PM | Or a Sonic... I'll take a Sonic... |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 06:59 PM | -Same thing with them. See the commercials all the time, never actually seen a Sonic's, though. |
| MarkusTay6301-03-08, 07:08 PM | Thats what drives me nutz! I'm a really FAT man, who is being shown food he CAN'T have on a daily basis... I think my constitutional rights to happiness are being violated here... |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-03-08, 08:27 PM | Oy Vey...A Shiksa who speaks Yiddish! Only a little.;) |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-03-08, 08:29 PM | -I've never actually even seen a Dairy Queen, let alone been to a Dairy Queen, though I see their commercials all the time. There's a Dairy Queen very close to where I live.:) |
| MerrikCale01-03-08, 08:30 PM | Mine's just Mark, BTW. Hey Mark. In case anyone cares (and I know they don't), my name is Mike. Oh and its not looking good for me on Saturday. I think my wife has b-day plans for me. Hopefully, but..... |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 08:31 PM | There's a Dairy Queen very close to where I live.:) -Well, if I ever get a craving for Dairy Queen (What do they even sell? Ice cream and ice cream related frozen things?), I'll know who to ask. |
| MerrikCale01-03-08, 08:35 PM | -Well, if I ever get a craving for Dairy Queen (What do they even sell? Ice cream and ice cream related frozen things?), I'll know who to ask. DQ also sells burgers and dogs I think |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-03-08, 08:40 PM | -Well, if I ever get a craving for Dairy Queen (What do they even sell? Ice cream and ice cream related frozen things?), I'll know who to ask. :D To answer your question, yes, and yes to burgers and hot dogs as well (though they are closed for the season right now). Dairy Queen is pretty famous for its soft serve ice cream, which I enjoy. Of course, I'm fond of Coldstone Creamery and Maggie Moos as well.:) |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 08:47 PM | DQ also sells burgers and dogs I think -Oh, alright. Of course, I'm fond of Coldstone Creamery and Maggie Moos as well.:) -I've heard of, and been to Coldstone's, but never been to 'Maggie Moos'. Nice name, though. :) |
| MerrikCale01-03-08, 09:03 PM | Of course, I'm fond of Coldstone Creamery and Maggie Moos as well.:) I like making them sing for tips |
| Lord Karsus01-03-08, 09:13 PM | Hey Mark. In case anyone cares (and I know they don't), my name is Mike. Oh and its not looking good for me on Saturday. I think my wife has b-day plans for me. Hopefully, but..... -Oh well. Well, we'll be there, if you care to make a sneak attack... I like making them sing for tips -I bet you would, you cruel, cruel man. |
| MerrikCale01-04-08, 10:00 AM | -Oh well. Well, we'll be there, if you care to make a sneak attack... I will try my man |
| Lord Karsus01-04-08, 11:21 AM | -Excellent. -MT, figure out what you are going to do? If the train is running strange hours, you can also just take it to either Atlantic Avenue (Dodger Stadium was supposed to be built above that subway complex), or Penn Station, and then take a train to Brooklyn. Either way. |
| Sith_Lord_V01-04-08, 12:37 PM | Damn, this sucks. It was my 40th Birthday yesterday, and as such, my friends and family have this party planned for me tomorrow. I was kinda hoping you guys wouldn't mind a Philly area, ex-Bridgewater NJ guy comin' down, but now it looks like I'll have to make it next time...hope the invite still stands ? |
| msatran01-04-08, 01:28 PM | Hey, I just like to meet new people. |
| Lord Karsus01-04-08, 01:50 PM | ...hope the invite still stands ? -Of course. If we generally have a base of 4-5 people, which it seems we do, we can have meetings every month. |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-04-08, 01:56 PM | - -I've heard of, and been to Coldstone's, but never been to 'Maggie Moos'. Nice name, though. :) Yeah. :) Maggie Moos uses pretty much the same concept/business model as Coldstone's, as far as I can tell, only it has a cute cow motif to it. I've actually told the people at Coldstone not to sing when I give them a tip, because I find it annoying.:) |
| MerrikCale01-04-08, 03:42 PM | I've actually told the people at Coldstone not to sing when I give them a tip, because I find it annoying.:) It is annoying but I enjoy making people do weird things......that doesn't sound so good does it? |
| Lord Karsus01-04-08, 03:45 PM | It is annoying but I enjoy making people do weird things......that doesn't sound so good does it? -Depends on the context. |
| MarkusTay6301-04-08, 09:03 PM | There was somethng I really needed to get done today - family stuff - that I didn't finish, so I will have to do it tomorrow. :( That means I won't be able to make it this time out. Hopefully, I'll be able to make the next one. |
| Finglas01-04-08, 09:09 PM | Now I want Dairy Queen. ;) Hmm, funny thing, everyone says Maggie Moo's is great ice cream--I pass 2 of them on the way to play D&D every other Friday, the Verona and Wayne ones, but haven't stopped yet. That will change soon, methinks... Ahem. As long as the baby permits, I may be able to make it, at least for a short while to meet everyone and talk over a cup (or two) of coffee. So please put me on the maybe list. Oh, and btw, my real name is Aidan, and I'll be the six-footish, average Irish-looking-but-Jersey-accented guy in his late 30's with sloppy brown (well, mostly still brown) hair. Hope to see you all tomorrow! |
| Lord Karsus01-05-08, 12:26 AM | -Rino, funnyily enough, I was in Jersey today, and saw a Maggie Moo's. -Well, I'll see everyone tomorrow. My cell number is 516-476-1018, in case anyone needs to contact me. |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-05-08, 10:53 PM | Maggie Moo's has great cake batter ice cream.:D |
| MerrikCale01-05-08, 11:33 PM | how was it? I gotta go next time out and meet y'all |
| Lord Karsus01-06-08, 12:03 AM | -Things went good. Me, John, Msa and Finglas showed up. We BSed for about two and a half hours or so. It was all good. -I was sad not to see Rino, and a lot of the other questionables, but there's always next time. |
| Alediran01-06-08, 09:05 AM | Somebody took pictures? |
| msatran01-06-08, 10:00 AM | No, but we'll do better next time. We're increasing at a rate of 1 person per meeting, so I'm loving this. If we get 2 or 3 more people, I'll run a game. :) How about that!!!! |
| Lord Karsus01-06-08, 10:47 AM | Somebody took pictures? -No, I forgot my camera. There's next time, though. |
| MerrikCale01-06-08, 12:04 PM | Are we looking at a Feb date? |
| Lord Karsus01-06-08, 12:21 PM | -Yeah, I haven't even given much thought to it, though. To further utlize this thread, does anyone have any specific times they know they won't be able to attend a meeting in February? I want to keep the meetings on Saturday nights, so does anyone know in advance if the 2nd, 9th, 16th, or 23rd are bad? |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-06-08, 04:45 PM | -I was sad not to see Rino, and a lot of the other questionables, but there's always next time. And I was sad not to see you all too. Hopefully next time... |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin01-06-08, 04:46 PM | No, but we'll do better next time. We're increasing at a rate of 1 person per meeting, so I'm loving this. If we get 2 or 3 more people, I'll run a game. :) How about that!!!! I'd be up for it.:) |
| MerrikCale01-06-08, 09:33 PM | No, but we'll do better next time. We're increasing at a rate of 1 person per meeting, so I'm loving this. If we get 2 or 3 more people, I'll run a game. :) How about that!!!! 4e? |
| johnkretzer01-06-08, 11:00 PM | 4e? Hopefuly we will meet before it is released... |
| DMD01-07-08, 01:44 PM | I believe I can actually make it for Saturday February 2. |
| msatran01-07-08, 04:47 PM | That's good, because if anyone said "Oh, I could make it, but only on Super Bowl Sunday..." I'd be extremely cranky. |
| MarkusTay6301-07-08, 11:03 PM | Whats a "Super Bowl"? Is it a game? Can I play it without leaving my comfy armchair? :P |
| johnkretzer01-08-08, 03:35 AM | Whats a "Super Bowl"? Is it a game? Can I play it without leaving my comfy armchair? :P Sure...it is called fantasy football. http://www.geneticanomaly.com/RPG-Motivational/slides/fantasyfootball.html |
