2nd printing of Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-01-05, 03:58 PM i just bought hte Forgotten Realms campaign setting and went online to errata and it said that all those changes would be in the second printing of the book, and i checked and the old mistakes are still there, so i was wondering when is the second printing going to be? if its soon ill just return the book and wait to get the new one w/out errors. oh, and i checked when that errata was put on the web, and found it was put out in 2001... either they gave up on a second publishing, or its soon.

08-02-05, 10:47 PM As a complete newbie to these forums, but an avid player, I was wondering as well if there will be a 3.5 edition. I mean, changing rule system over is not a big deal, but... it would be nice. :D

08-02-05, 10:59 PM The Player's Guide to Faerun was essentially the transition book from 3.0 to 3.5 in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. I'd personally recommend it to anyone who wanted to run a 3.5 Forgotten Realms Campaign.

Well, you more-or-less need it to run a 3.5 campaign, depending on how many FR specific PrC's/spells you use. I didn't like the book itself much though. I find it had a lot of editorial mistakes compared to the other 35 or so I own. Didn't like the art much either.
If you don't use FR specific spells and PrCs I wouldn't recommend it. Please also note that the Purple Dragon Knight PrC in it is subtly different from the one in Complete Warrior, printed 2 months earlier. There are now 2 3.5 Purple Dragon Knights, Thank you WotC!
