| Dyne01-25-07, 08:28 PM | I was looking at getting a couple FR books, and I was wondering: Does anyone know if there is some sort of 3.5 update booklet for some of the older Forgotten Realms accessories, or are they okay to just use as-is? The only sort of thing I found on the WotC site was for the Fiend Folio, Manual of the Planes, Monster Manual II, Deities and Demigods, and Epic-Level Handbook. In particular, I was looking at: Faiths and Pantheons Magic of Faerun Races of Faerun Silver Marches Unapproachable East I apologize if this has been asked many times before. Any help is appreciated. |

Magic of Faerun -Some of the spells have been reprinted in other places, as well as some of the items. If they appear in later sourcebooks, the newer info trumps the old. But, as long as there is nothing new, the old information is still good. Races of Faerun -Races of Faerūn is 3.5. It talks about changes to the PHB at the beginning, and that these changes have been included. Silver Marches -A lot has happened in the area recently. Although I don't have the book, and can't tell you which parts are no longer current, a whole lot of the lore is currently obsolete now. Unapproachable East -Unapproachable East is 3.5. It taks about changes to the PHB at the beginning. |

Several of the PrCs have been updated in Complete Divine's web enhancements, or in newer books, and many of the feats have been as well, as they revamped their approach to Divine Feats. The best way to tell if something has a newer version is http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/lists |
| TomCosta01-26-07, 04:20 PM | The primary 3.5E update documents are of course the Player's Guide to Faerun and its web enhancement (for Monsters of Faerun). The introduction to the former goes over what needed changing and basically says they aren't going to redo individual NPC/god stats and lore is lore, but otherwise gets into the other mechanics. That said, various bits and pieces have been updated elsewhere, including the 3.5E DMG, the various Complete books, the Spell Compendium, and even other 3.5E FR books, such as Lost Empires of Faerun. In pretty much all cases you should use the latest printed source. |

It taks about changes to the PHB at the beginning. That's odd. I swore their publication dates were before the 3.5 PHB.... Anyway, thanks for all the help guys. Looks like I have one more reason to check out the Spell Compendium and Lost Empires of Faerun. |

I'm assuming that they are talking about the 3.5e revision to the rules. It would be a little silly if they were talking about the 2e to 3e change. |

What do you mean a whole lot of the lore is currently obsolete? |
