Has anyone tried converting these to a 3.5 format?

I loved the computer games, every time I've played them, and have some players back home who know nothing of the game. I thought it'd be rather fun to play a tabletop version of a very cool computer game.

Everything'd be unofficial, of course, but it'd be pretty fun.
Plus, I just want to see the Flail of Ages as an artifact...mmmmm...:D

There's a project called Icewind Gate II. It's a major conversion that will change BG2's engine into the form seen in IWDII. (3E as opposed to 2E, among other things. Not 3.5E, though.) More info here, (http://weidu.org/iwg2/) if you are interested.

Never tried doing that, but there are people out there who have converted some characters to 3E, and used them as NPCs in their games. :)

I'm not sure I would ever play a tabletop version of the game though--I feel the PC game is the true game, and if I'm going to play tabletop I'd rather it involve a new story instead of something I've already done before.

i would most definately play that! of course, i'm attempting to change everything in my gamer circle to 3.5 right now and no one wants to unless they have the book. and no one is willing to buy them or just have no $$$ right now. :hoppingmad: i'm actually wanting to convert the Watcher's Keep adventure from Badlur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal for my circle at the moment. i heard that Demogorgon is in the Book of Vile Darkness, but of course, no one has that.....later

Some OT Bad News

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/445/445526p1.html

Black Isle Studios, who gave us Baldur's Gate, has shut down.
The good news is that Interplay still retains the FR license.
Let's just hope those hacks at Atari (aka Infogrames) don't gain
total control.

I know a person who is converting Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal into Neverwinter Nights modules, so that is essentially 3e rules.

Wouldn't that run into problems? BGII's a copyrighted material. The dialogue, story, characters belong to, I think, Interplay. I doubt they'll be happy with its conversion into an Aurora mod, then released to the public for free.

Am not sure if Interplay's having the license is a good news. From what they've done with KotOR, I imagine Bioware'd have been able to come up with a fairly good FR game. Heh, HotU've been receiving quite a lot of applause.

It could, but I don't think it will. There was one before that was being made, and Interplay threatened them with a lawsuit or something, so they quit. This one however, I haven't heard any legal action on yet, so maybe Interplay has forgotten about it. The creator(s) say he doesn't care if they do, unless they break down his door and steal his computer he will keep making it.

Guess we'll find out, but I doubt they'd be losing any sales of BG games if people want to play them as a NWN module.

First, major shout out to fellow Metallicat Kains' Avatar:cool:
And secondly, according to my latest PS2 magazine, the new BG: dark alliance 2 game suposedly incorporates 3.5 rules. Haven't been able to verify that online, tho. Can anyone support this claim online? According to the official website, it uses 3.0...hmm...
