What would you like to see in a 3ed Prayers of the Faithful?

Here are my suggestions

1) More deity specfic PrCs

2) Write ups for chosen ie what powers they get, who they are, where they are and what there up to (Aimed specficly at those Chosen that we already know about)

3) More deity specfic spells, there where around 500 spells published in Faithes and avatars, Powers and Pantheons and Demihuman deities hardly any of them have been converted to 3ed.

4) Full write ups for the various churches which would include

a) All churches for a particular faith, for example the list would have all known sites for churches dedicated to Bane, Cyric Mystra etc

b) Write ups for all Monks orders and Paladin chapter houses (similar to the write ups in the FRC) including where there located

5) Detailed description for the planes the FR gods live on 9ie Manual of the Planes style entries for Arvandor, Brightwater the Barrens of doom and despair etc..

6) Denzins: as the FR god realms arent tied to the Great wheel system, there realms should be populated with there own Denzins not Tannar'ri/Baatezu and Celestials. My suggestion is that the Denzins should be based on the gods domains for example Bane would have 5 types of Denzins living Evil, Hatred, Destruction, Law and Tyranny and the powers these creatures have woul be drawn from the spell list of those 5 domains. So while Cyric would also have evil denzins just like Bane, he wouldnt have any Tyranny or Hatred Denzins and Bane would have any Chaos Denzins

That's an excellent idea, and probably what Faiths and Pantheons should've been instead of a book full of faulty God stats.

I suppose some people might be able to use the Avatar stats; but I think it'd have been a better idea to include a lot of the information you're talking about instead.

I can't think of anything to add to the above. Good job!

I enjoyed the format of the original Prayers from the Faithful, with the large amounts of fluff with the prayer books. I will agree however that for the most part, to those that own the original 5 gods books, Faiths and Pantheons was somewhat of a disappointment.

Some of what has been already posted could easily be included in the player's guide to the Forgotten Realms. But to think all would be included is a stretch. Many of the orders of each church have been named or at least hinted about in F&A, P&P, and DD. So I don't feel that having to rehash them again is necessary, except to either update the setting or present this to those that do not have access to these books.

I personally would prefer seeing more on the dogma and religious philosophies of the gods (and how many in the faith can interpret them, to create schisms or differing branches of the faith) and being a somewhat lazy and still inexperienced to the 3e rules, the PrCs of more gods rather than the 20 or so in Faiths and Pantheons.

I also think they should give answers to some questions about the divine- perhaps something about the Dawn Cataclysm, perhaps a bit about Savras, clearing up some things about him...

Yes Yes Yes. More fluff is needed. Forget crunchy. I want history, background, realmslore. Besides the crunchy parts are usually faulty anyway when it comes to Gods and Chosen and Novel Characters, etc.:D

PrCs and spells are cruchy and should be included.

Hey, maybe we'll find about Mystra's *other* 14 Chosen!

Rituals of the gods. I still WANT these :(. Marriage ceremonies from god to god, births, deaths, etc. Yes I know there is a specific god/dess for some of them but each god should have thier own version of rituals.

Ed Greenwood aparently has box and box of unpublished FR stuff in the basement under his house

So there might be stuff covering marriages and stuff doen there

*I personally thinks his basement reassembles the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost ark* :D

Yes. Will someone tell me why Ed isn't as prominent in the world of the Realms as he should be.:confused:

Those are all great idea. What I really miss from AD&D is the Specialty Priest class. It's a shame they never made it up for 3E, though I guess Prestige Classes can fit that part, but still... :)

Ed is not a recluse, and he does write for the Realms alot...he still has a bit of creative control as well. He's currently writeing novels and less gaming though he's always being called for info on things and he's also happy that the realms is flourishing from other gamers as well as his own dreams for it. :behold: :sad: :mad: :eek:

Actually, a follow-up to F&P would be good.

I would like to see more Prestige Classes mainly because they sell books but, more importantly IMO, I would like the following :

- an expansion of the rules and description for a deity's canon to include common sacred books and temple decorations;
- deity-specific outsiders (ok, that's crunch too);
- deity-specific spells and perhaps even feats.
