that you would like to see released

I would, in this order

1. Aquatic Realms

- Seros, Myth Nantar and other underwater realms, lakes, rivers, swamps, some more info about Batrachi, and aboleths

2. Sylvan Realms

- about fey, the plane, elves, less detailed woodlands like Chondalwood etc.

3. Planar book

- explaining all the changes, planes were neglected so far in every edition, Realmspace and Far Realm, maybe even Abeir

4. Island Realms

- Nimbral, Lantan, Moonshaes, Chult, Evermeet, Ruathym, pirates, ships, Rundeen etc.

5. Cold Realms

- Hartsvale, Narfell, Novularond, Sossal etc.

other regions, Dalelands first, and Vilhon Reach

#1 I have NO interest in what-so-ever, but the rest would be cool.

I'd rename #3 Planar Realms. :D

I'd also like one on K-T, the Hordelands, and the Utter East, and perhaps a new one on the Vilhon Reach - it's been awhile.

I'd like to see some more info on the spelljamming ships in the Realms

Mabye a full map of the entire planet, preferably 3rd edition though

I do not think you can really speculate on what sourceboos will be released until we see the changes 4E will make.

I wanted to see a Bloodstone lands update for 3.5 but god knows what is going to happen to it 10 years in the future.

I think the Vilhon Reach is going to be a big mess, just a feeling I get...

I don't mean speculate, what sourcebooks do you want, or if you were in charge ...

hopefully nothing happened to Hlondeth, never liked Chondath, Nagawater was cool, and the canal has lost its purpose

I'm glad they've got rid of Maztica and Zakhara and some other real world analogies, considered it a bad idea in the first place, Hordelands aren't that interesting, except Songfarla, KT had some potential, but that's not FR

-Zakhara is still around. And, Kara-Tur is Forgotten Realms. Kara-Tur is not Faerūn, however. Forgotten Realms entails the entire planet.

what about the moon, yes technically, but I mean fluffwise

5 ... the rest holds no interest or will be covered anyways. As for "Maztica gone", I tend to think that this new terra incognita will be another Xendrik, since we will get a fair chunk of long forgotten Abeir over there and that is too tempting a thing to leave uncovered for long.

I guess I really have no interest in what will be released for 4E. At this point my campaign is in 1362 DR. The campaign will end in 1364 or 1365.

After that the next game I run will probably be set even farther back or at the same time period as there are still events in the 1360's that interest me.

I don't see myself ever running a campaign past 1380 so 1475 does not hold very much interest for me.

-I don't play D&D in the Realms, but the campaign I am currently running, which is ongoing for about two years now, has spanned about a month and a half in game time. If you're in 1362 DR, all the time in the world isn't going to get you to 1380 DR!

Well LK, I could make it past 1380, it depends on DMing style.

I have been running my campaign in the Realms for over 6years. They started in 1357 and the year is now 1362, the reason for this is I will let downtime go by with no activity for the characters. Also the characters have moved to different parts of the continent at different times (once with over 1,000 followers in tow) and travel takes time.

When I run a new campaign, it will be from 1st level all over again. I have a few different ideas for new campaigns so it will depend on "when" I want to place them that will determine the new starting year.

I ran a Dark Ages Vampire game that started in the year 1190 and ended in 2000 and it took about 6 years. I of course jumped around in the timeline. I am actually doing another Dark Ages game now and I started it in 1065, there I am also jumping around (they are currently in 1203). I wil probably go backwards to Rome for flashback sequences as well.

Well, consuidering your current D&D game moved forward five years in six years of RW time, and you are still 23 FR years away from "D-Day", that gives you a little over 27½ years of real-time to still enjoy your current campaign if you continue at that rate. :D

Don't switch settings - you can use the 4e rules WITHOUT any of that Spellplague nonsense.

-Good luck keeping the same coherent group for 27 years...;)

Which was my whole point - he really needn't worry about the Spellplague at all; it might as well be forever. :P

By placing the official setting end-date at 1385 DR, they basically gave us all the time in the world to continue playing 3e... wasn't that very nice of them? ;)
DMD

Spellplague? Never heard of it, neither have my players. We are fine. :D

I have had the same cohesive group for 13 years so I think I will be fine for at least the next 5-10. :)

So if you actually do continue to play up until 1385 DR, you will have been running the same group for FORTY YEARS!

Just... WOW.

...the canal has lost its purpose...

Deep down, that makes me very, very happy.
