Moscone 04-18-05, 08:02 AM	What's with this growing trend of Wizards making all these DnD books available for PDF downloads lately? I guess I can see that if you transfer it onto a disc then you can take it to a friend's place and plug it into his/her computer and just look on the screen, but if you want to print it off, they must be aware that it costs more to use all that ink than to just go out and buy the book... :uh-huh: Oops. guess I posted this in the wrong section. My bad.

The nameles one 04-18-05, 11:39 AM	Plus It's sometimes easier to download a PDF from the internet, than wait for ages for the book to show up where you live. (Especially true outside off USA.)
Gray Richardson 04-18-05, 01:17 PM	I love PDF's! I almost prefer to have my library on my computer where I can look things up quickly, with the touch of a few buttons, even cut and paste a stat block into an adventure I am writing, all without having to get up and search through my library of books. Also, PDF's are searchable, so with a quick search querry it takes you right to the page you need. I don't ever print the PDF's out, unless I need a picture or a map for a game I am running. I am perfecty happy to read the PDF off my computer monitor. PDF's are really, extremely handy!
Lashan 04-18-05, 08:16 PM	It's also cheaper for a .pdf. Many people don't need a hard copy of the books. Either a DM can look up the info on his home/work pc OR someone with a laptop can look them up anytime they want. You can even put one on a Palm Pilot or similiar device.
