Ok, I will probably get around to reading the series some time, but for my up coming campiagn I need the boards help. What all has happened to so far in the Twilight War Series?

Thank you in advance.

ps. this completely goes against my fandom, but I will probably still read the books anyway.

-Here's a really condensed version. Really condensed:

-The Shadovar enact a plan that climaxes in a powerful magical effect that ravages Sembia.

You could have read my German revisions to both novels, who have a special spoiler section. As it is, you need to rely on Karsus sparse writings for the time being. ;)

Thanks, I don't usually do the whole spoiler thing, but I needed the quick run down.

Well essentially ...

The Shade try to establish their empire again by first raising the city of Sakkors to the skies again, which they do. And to get a decent enough base of operation, they allow Prince Rivalen (the Shar-Priest) to spread chaos in Sembia, which he does. Behind the scenes though, the Divine One - a Chosen of Shar described in Faiths & Pantheons - tries to reclaim his power and a priestess of Shar works on her own (in the end) and summons Shar's Shadowstorm, apparently a massive opening to the Negative Energy Plane / Plane of Shadow. That's where the Shadowstorm novel ends ... the demise of Ordulin, above which the Shadowstorm was summoned.

I also want to point out that Prince Rivalen is also charming the people of Selgaunt, as well--endearing himself to them in various ways (especially by defending the city) to make it all the more easier for them to accept his eventual (in his mind, of course) rulership.

-Just so you know, Volumvox, "the Divine One", isn't a Chosen of Shar. His background is discussed in Faiths and Pantheons, and are further discussed in Shadow Storm. According to F&P, he was a servant whom Shar eventually rewarded with divinity (DR 0). And, according to Shadow Storm...Well, that sheds some very interesting light on him.

-Sorry. I meant Shadow Storm. I'll fix that. I can't remember book titles for the life of me. I'm starting to think that I have some kind of neurological problem. Lately, my memory is horrible, and I've been stuttering more and more- which is something I've never done until a few months ago.

Maybe you're just stressed out.:) In any case I hope everything will be all right.

Seconded.

When you say he was rewarded with divinty, what exactly does that intail?

ps. I am about 5 pages from finishing Shadowbred, and I think those shadowwalkers are awesome, I'm guessing they're monks, but I think there should be somthing else there for their shadow steping abilities, like a new Prestige Class or somthing... Hm.. I'll stew on that, and maybe throw somthing together, unless there is somthing already out there?

-He was a good servant, and Shar eventually gave him divinity. The details are sketchy, but think of it like in Planescape, where the Proxy of a deity is rewarded with some of that deity's divine power. Of course, without revealing the "shocking secret" involving Volumvox, it's a little more complicated.

These guys are indeed shadowwalker monks. Paul S. Kemp said a few (as in: few) things on them in one of the threads hereabouts, where they (him and Tom Costa) were working on Erevis and Riven.
