Maaz, Technomancer 08-02-05, 05:15 PM	I am starting a campaign and I need to know what happens in book 6 Ressurrection. I tried searching online but didn't find much. And I think they took out any option to search the forums on this thing... I can't find any. Anyways please help it would be appreciate.

BrianCritchley 08-02-05, 11:20 PM	basicly lloth becomes a greater goddess and absorbed dannifai into herself. Quitheal returns to menzobannazan to give the word to all, and Hastalli is basicly turned into some sort of evil spirit type dealie thingy
Zevox 08-03-05, 12:35 AM	As Brian Catchley said, Lolth ascends to the rank of Greater Goddess. Danifae turns out to be her Yor'Thae (Chosen), and is absorbed into her to complete the transformation. Quenthel is permitted to return to Menzoberranzan to retain her post as head of Arach-Tinilith and to spread word of Lolth's return and newfound power. Halisstra, whom turns away from Eilistraee (long story), is effectively made into an undead instrument of Lolth's will (though she still retains her sentience) known as the Lady Penitant - effectively, she becomes a true "Chosen of Lolth", albeit one more directly under her Goddess' control than most. Pharaun dies, eaten by a swarm of spiders on the Demonweb Pits, and Alissza takes the only remains of him - his finger. Quenthel kills Jeggred after Lolth sends her off for Menzo. Gromph succeeds in destroying Dyrr's phylacatory and makes it out alive, though the House Dyrr temple is destroyed in the explosion Dyrr's last trap caused, taking its Matron and one or two of her daughters with it. House Dyrr (under the guidance of its eldest suriving noble daughter) negotiates with House Baenre and is allowed to survive as thier vassal, but at a much lower rank in the heirarchy. Nimor kills off the Dueregar prince of Graklwhateverthenameis and negotiates and alliance with Khaanyr Vhok and the Scoured Legion. And thats about it. Zevox

Sounds about right, nothing to interesting for the Games with this ending of lore. I mean sure, you could use Halisstra in your campaign, but the problem there is I don't think she has been statted yet. Also, it was said in the Novel that her good or something like that is burried deep inside of her now. Not forever lost, but after a few Millenia's, Halisstra might just be back ;) lol.

I don't mind that she is a Greater in game terms now, I just don't like the waste of paper that was the announcement of it. *Note: I'm not intending on bashing anything or anythone* Sure, it's nice to imagine the final Araunshee/Corellon battle now since she is a Greater finally and a new Crown War of sorts becoming. Her character killed Jeggred for betryal, lieing, hate and being male. Simple as that. It wasn't to take away power from Triel because Lolth didn't choose Quenthel as her vassal because she wants her to head her Church. Essentially, she was made High Priestess by Lolth her self if you will, instead of being promoted too by the First Matron Mother.
Kuje31 08-04-05, 12:50 PM	Well guys, if we ponder Ed's contract which states, "Whatever I write is canon unless TSR/WOTC changes it with an in game explaination," then it makes you realize that one of the reasons why WOTC wrote those novels is to explain a smidgen of the planar changes. :) Will I use that event? Not as it is written in canon but I might change it to suit my world. Lloth will not leave the Abyss though, especially since, as most know, I don't use the new planes.

Again, Lolth sent Quenthel back to head the Church. Not to try and take the matron seat. Lolth preety much explained that at the end of book six. Quenthel has Triel's ear just as much as Gromph does and just as much as Triel her self. Lolth like this confusion and chaos that is brough by two siblings giving word to another. Quenthel is, and likely until her death (again), will head the Church in Menzoberanzan.

Hmm...armies of drow striking at surface elven communities en masse, while, in the Outer Planes, a deity vs deity war rages between Arvandor and the Demonweb. :plotting: DM senses tingling...I feel a new campaign coming on! PCs could take the side of the surface elves or the drow, and at high levels (or sooner, if they have a bad turn of luck in a battle) they could even fight side by side with their divine patrons on the Outer Planes!

It is her purpose to still over throw him, and she is the in-game rank to soon attempt. But we all know both will die and Elisstraee will head the pantheon. Not that I've heard this from anyone...*cough*
