08-01-03, 09:11 PM I run a Forgotten Realms campaign and I am looking for music to represent a Shieldmeet Festival. Sheildmeet is a holiday that occurs once every four years on Toril on a sort of "leap day". Shieldmeet is a day of open council between the people and their rulers. It is a day for making or renewing pacts and for proving oneself in tournaments. Those not seeking advancement treat the elite's tournaments, duels, and trials of magical prowess as welcome additions to the holiday's theatrical and musical entertainment.

Festival music, upbeat and fun! Lively, and dangerous for duels and the such.

What are your recommendations? I prefer no vocal pieces, or pieces with vocals in a language besides english as my players get distracted by such tunes.

Sub-question: If there were a Forgotten Realms soundtrack what do you think would likely be found on the track list?

Scroll down and listen to the "Ghostwood" mp3.

The other tracks might be good as well, but Ghostwood is probably just what you're looking for.

08-02-03, 07:42 PM Find yourself a Medieval Baebes CD. These women are incredible! Authentic medieval style music.

They make excellent soundtrack material for stuff that you were mentioning.

08-06-03, 12:06 AM indeed the medieval babes as listed is most excellent. On top of that:

08-06-03, 12:52 AM Anything by Jeremy Soule that came from NWN, IWD, or IWD2, or BG:DA/BG2:DA, or SOU.

anything by michael hoenig from BG1, BG1:TOTSC, BG2:SOA, or BG2:TOB.

if you buy the Icewind Dale special edition it comes with a 40 song sound track.
I have a 52 song sound track I made from kazaa that has both hoenig and soule, but I would do kazaa now that they have that big watch out going on.
Also, the baldus gate 1 with totsc special edition comes with the music, about a 38 song track with really good town and jovial music.
