A Gladiatorial Affair [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-01-03, 01:14 AM Ladies and Gentlemen! Looking forward to a new twist in my campaign, I'm planning on introducing my PCs to a Gladiatorial event. Its to feature several in arena games from Ring collection to Survival of the Fittest, almost most game are under the sun.

Question(s):
Where in Faerun is a good place to establish a temporary Gladiator Arena? I mean temporary, as in magically built or somewhat.
What would you feature in such an arena? Games types? Participants?

The Arena: This coliseum was constructed for the amusement of the lords hundreds of years ago, affording them the sport of gladiatorial games and allowing them to witness the deaths of traitors and lawbreakers at the hands of savage monsters or other criminals.

Not temporary but a good setting non the less.

Several issues back of Dragon mag (maybe up to a year ago) had a gladiator theme, maybe check that out if you can get your hands on it.

10-01-03, 06:52 PM There's also several arena's in Thay. Hamsetis the chosen of Set was a gladiator in one of them, even killing a dracolich with a stick when there. (I would like to have seen that) ;)
