Well it took me a few months longer than I had anticipated but I've finally released the next update to A Grand History of the Realms. It can be downloaded at http://www.geonomicon.com/portal/

This edition contains a couple hundred new entries primarily centered on the regions of the Sword Coast North, Netheril, and the Old Empires. I've also included a new section entitled Ancient History which contains a new sarrukh creation myth and an atlas of faerūn during the Days of Thunder.

As before, all dates on the actual chronology are 100% canon and include references to the sourcebook in which the event was described. Color coding is used to differentiate events from different regions of Toril.

As always feedback is welcome. Enjoy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Is there anything you'd like to see added in a future update?

-Well, you added a cover page (which is pretty cool, by the way). So, maybe add a cool back cover page, that has a little synopsis of the stuff inside. It's not really needed, but it makes the web-book look more like normal sourcebooks.

Thank you mr.James.

It happens that I posess your older version found on this address http://www.geonomicon.com/chronology/temporum/faerun.htm and still your new additions are worth another "one-hundred pages with dates and events" read, which is not quite as easy as reading a novel but it's worth the trouble.

In LEoF says that Sundering occured in -17600 DR, is this a mistake ?

In my opinion yes LEoF made a mistake. The date -17600 DR contradicts the events that take place in the novel Evermeet: Island of Elves. Since this novel is where The Sundering was first mentioned I'll take Elaine Cunningham's narrative over a one line blurb in LEoF.

Thank you very much

Great job.

I'm just wondering, since you listed Windwalker novel during events of the Horde [in 1360 DR], why didn't you include all the other events from Starlight & Shadows trilogy?

I think there may be some confusion as to when the novels took place. The Forgotten Realms Novel Chronology WotC used to have up in the novels site places them in 1361, which obviously doesn't work if the sequel happened a year earlier.

Still, Iakhovas... awesome work, and without a doubt the single most useful Forgotten Realms freebie I've found on the net.

Only the oppening Chapter of Windwalker take place during Horde [to tie up the story]. All the other Chapters took place after first two novels [and events in those take aproximatelly a year or two to unfold].

Ah, so it does... I really need to start reading these instead of just buying them for bookshelf filler. So, the majority of the series takes place in 1361DR. Well, it's not a big thing, since the events were hardly Realms-shattering.

Considering that events of the trilogy are given as in-game reason why drow from 3E differ in abilities from drow in 2E [or more precisely, why they don't loose that abilities after living on the surface], I'd say that it had bigger influence on the Realms than most other novels put together [excluding Avatar, RotA and possibly Last Mythal series].

I don't know if it's bigger than the Avatar crisis.. Remember, that was switching from 1E to 2E, and there were a whole heck of a lot of Gods running amuck. :)

Which is why I said "excluding Avatar, RotA and possibly Last Mythal series" [I put Last Mythal under possible since I didn't read it yet] when I compared Starlight & Shadows influence with all other series.

Apologies, I mentally omitted the 'excluding'. :)

No excuse Ripe except that the novels got missed when I was updating the chronology. I'll be sure to get them included in the next update.

Amazing!! Truly amazing. Thanks for all the work you've put into this. VERY, Very useful.

My only suggestion would be to use abreviations of the book titles instead of numbers after each entry. I know you provide a handy reference near the end but it's less page flipping if all the information you need is right in front of you. Just a small nit. The book is amazing.

Thanks again.
