A new underdark campaign [Archive] - Wizards Community

Me and a group of friends are going to strat a new underdark campaign. The dm has given us 2 choices. We can all play as drow as members of a low ranking house in Menzoberranzan. Or we can play as a party of Underdark adventures with the stipulation that none of us run as drow.In both of the scenarios we will be starting out at 5th. In the other one That being said I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for character choices for either.

and i am serious about that :teach:

imagine what you can do with an orog-hexblade(warlock). i don`t think that beings from the surface really belong into the underdark...

if you are a drow, why not become a bladesinger of elistraee?

drow can do EVERYTHING!!! a really unfair overpowered race... with the racial feats in RoF you can get a real mean :mage:

and even the good old two-scimitars-dual-wielding-hackmaster (always a good char-idea) is a totally new opponent when he has improved levitation :plotting:

We well also be starting an underdark campaign sometime in the future, i was planning on starting a chitine rogue. 4 attacks on a full round and if you get that as a sneak attack....

10-27-05, 03:28 AM Strangely enough, I'm also in the process of setting up an Underdark campaign. My PC rosters runs as follows:

NE female drow Rogue 2/Fighter 2
LE female duergar Psion (telepath) 5
NE female kuo-toa Cleric 1 of Blipdoolpoolp
CE male derro Rogue 1/Sorcerer 1
NE male svirfneblin Illusionist 3 [who has the Shadow Weave Magic feat but doesn't have Shar as his patron deity]

All characters are ECL 6. I'm primarily using Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark (2E) and the Underdark (3.5E) books for my info.

As for some ideas; drow can be quite interesting to play in their natural environment (as opposed to playing a surface-dwelling, good-aligned, Eilistraee-worshipping, daylight-adapted excuse of a drow :D ). Derro are cool -- possibly a wilder 'cause of their +6 Charisma bonus? Gloamings look cool, some nice illusionist options. Grimlocks could have possibilities. I still think playing an illithid (using the Savage Species rules) would be nice.

10-27-05, 08:57 AM If your going to play a Drow, then besure your female since the female is dominant.

My cousin is actually starting up a Drow campaign for us also, and we have two choices to play, its either a Drow or a Slave. i'm thinking about playing an Ogre Slave with an INT of 3 "I'm hungre, I'm not"

10-28-05, 12:24 PM Well we voted and everyone but me voted for the drow. So we are gonna be members of a minor noble house ranked from 25-35. So now I need to decide what kind of drow I will roll up. I am thinking of a cleric or Paladin of Slaughter of Selvetarm. What do you think of that selection?

10-28-05, 03:25 PM I know your not going to be on the surface but try a rogue/cleric of vhareaun then going into the darkmask PrC from lords of darkness.

i recently plaued an arachnomancer male.... hot stuff , gotta play it slick and smooth things out with the priestesse all the time but it's great fun .... especialy if you pray Vhaeraun xD

well.... maybe i should ad it's risky buisness since i got staked after a couple of months :rolleyes:

10-30-05, 01:22 AM I have played drow characters before ( I am currently playing a Vhareunian Assasin atm in my campaign based out of Vassa) but I have never palyed one that was part of Lolth's system before. I thought playing one of Selvetarms followers to change things up. Or I might just scrap this and play a Valas Hune type.

This in my Mind would be a incredible choice RP wise and thats where its at. The numbers fall into place once you got the concept and the mindset. Id go this route in a heartbeat.

11-01-05, 09:52 AM The PRC for Vhaerun, masked something or other is a great prc, a couple of times a day you get to turn melee attacks back on whoever attacked you.
