a question about Serpent Kingdoms... [Archive] - Wizards Community

I live in CT and it always seems like it takes forever for the local bookstores to get new WOTC releases. For example, I have seen web features and enhancements for the new Serpent Kingdoms accessory all of July but it is still not availble in my local bookstores for purchase and it looks like its not available through most of the internet shopping sites until early August. I though the release date was July 2004. Is the book released? Why does WOTC do all this advertising now if you can't buy the book in the store? Wouldn't it be better to coordinate the advertising with the availability of the product?

I have noticed this same trend with all the new D&D releases over the last year or so.

What is going on?

07-20-04, 03:18 PM It's been out in Toronto for a week and a half now (came out the 9th I think). It seems that internet sites get it later than "real" stores.

07-20-04, 04:09 PM Seems like some stores in larger areas get them sooner than others. I'm in Iowa and have the same problem. Either the stores here don't order the new titles very soon after their release or the shipments aren't being shipped to them right away. Give it time, they will come.

07-20-04, 04:44 PM You need to find a nice and good local game store. Don't bother with the big outfits like Waldenbooks, Media Play, or Barnes and Nobles, they won't get the books at the very least until 2 weeks after release.

You could go here (http://www.attactix.com/) for my local gaming store, Attactix.
It is based in the Denver metro area, they don't have a list of products available, but if you know what you want, chances are they can get it for you or tell you if it is no longer available.
They always have WotC products on release day.
They are also a Chapter Approved store for Games Workshop (In fact we have a Games Workshop store in the area, and Attactix carries more selection).
They are a RPG, Wargame, and Boardgame store.

Alright people, lets try and help Savryn out by suggesting where he can try to get his new books on time from.
