The last Sembia novel, Lord of Stormweather, moved the year from 1372 (which is what it was in the FRCS and other sourcebooks) to 1373. Spider Queen i'm assuming took place in 1372......

I have the module, but I have never run it and so I wasn't sure when it ended.
Rhyana 10-15-03, 05:14 AM	Don't ask me where, but somewhere in the 3.0 FR Books I've read that realmstime advances one month for every two months in real time. The 3rd ed Frcs starts in Midwinter 1372, so you can do the maths (and tell me, when exactly it was published =)

Except for the few novels that are being printed that are still being set in the past, like RAS's and maybe one other authors.
klyre 10-15-03, 02:57 PM	Can I ask what difference it makes? Say you don't play but once a week and consecutive sessions are still playing out the same day in-game. You're quickly going to get off the "official" calendar. How you can say 1 month realmtime = 2 month real time is beyond me unless you're playing your campaign as real time 24/7.

It doesn't make a difference, but the poster who started this thread wanted to know the "official" current year. So officially its 1373. Btw, the Players Guide to FR, that comes out in March, is also going to expand on the info that took place in 1372 and bring the sourcebooks, not the novels, up to 1373.
aspectuscape 10-15-03, 05:19 PM	Thanks for all who posted, I did ask about the "official" date, because I would like to maintain some consistency with what is considered official, after the events of the adventure I ran (City of the Spider Queen) time will travel at a rate close to when I game with my group. The inconsistency with the FR site and the books is what I am confused on, how do I know what to accept as truth? I don't read the books so I don't know about them. Also what did u mean about laying off staff and it being related to incorrect information Just a clueless Tony
Gothenem 10-15-03, 05:29 PM	Approximately 1 year into 3.5 Wizards of the coast laid off several people, like Sean K. Reynolds, Rich Redman, Monte Cook, Stan!, Skip williams, and more. Because they no longer work for Wizards, It's hard for them to continue to advance the timeline by the guidelines they (hoped) to follow in FRCS). Actually, Monte left of his own accord. In any event, the Player's Guide will bring the calendar up to Kythorn 1, 1373 DR, when it is released next March. It includes timeline information on some of the novel events, so both the RPG and novel sides of the FR timeline are staying together. Thomas
