Well, it's a shameless -- but Forgotten Realms-oriented! -- plug.

Come and visit my shiny new website for the campaign I run:

A Tale of Mistledale (http://mistledale.net)

I mean to follow the campaign through written accounts, art, cartography, and game-rule goodies.

I'll be updating regularly so please check back. Enjoy!

Ivy :)

Interesting

How come none of the PCs have Character levels?

Whoa, I just looked at the site on another computer...some things need to be fixed! I hope you'll all reserve judgement til then :D

@ Dargoth: Is your question "why do the PCs all have NPC classes?"

They were all intended to be sort of regular people, or at least certainly not adventurers. They have all since gained levels in non-NPC classes.

Anyway, thanks for taking a look!

There, I think I've tidied up some of the sloppiness. Hope it looks better for everyone now. :)

I like the zoom up on Mistledale with the map. I'm trying to create a website, myself, and I am liking the map. I'll see what my web site creator friend can learn from the map.

Thanks!

This site is great. I really enjoyed poking around.

A couple of questions:
a) How did you create the maps? (CC? Hand-drawn? Other?)
b) How much farther has the campaign gone beyond what's currently posted?

Hi Lashan, hi Eric! Thank you both very much for the kind words. :)

To create the maps, I first used the old FR Interactive Atlas to print them off at a preselected scale. I transfered the main features onto copy paper and scanned them, then colored them in Paint Shop Pro.

@ Lashan, let your web designer know that I just used image maps with hotspots to make the "zoom up" maps.

@ Eric, the campaign has gone a long way past what's been posted so far (the original group first met in November 2001, and the campaign still continues to this day!). I figured that way, I could update every week or so with another "chapter" of the story, and that would give me time to do the artwork (I hope), since I find I don't have as much time to sketch as I'd like to these days.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the site! Keep checking back every so often; the plot has taken some interesting twists and turns!

Very well designed and I love the art work. Are all the paintings and character portraits your own work?
Ivy

Thanks, Alrunic! :)

The pencils and watercolors are my own work; the crest of Mistledale, the symbol of Chauntea, and the wood wose are not mine.

I originally wanted to do all the art myself, but I had a moment of weakness with the wood wose. It's one of my favorite of DiTerlizzi's illustrations.

I've been wanting to draw the crest for Tantras for my home game. It's been a LONG time since I picked up a pencil and sketch pad. Also I was hoping it would be in color, and I am not good at water colors (at all). I wish I could find a decent picture of the seal of Tantras.

Thanks for the help with the map! I will pass it along.

I had a problem with the site. Is it down now?

I don't think there were any problems. I just tried the link and it worked fine. Just give another try; I'd love to hear your opinion. :)

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who looked and the site and/or commented here, and also let you all know that the first update to the site has been added.

Thanks a lot everyone, and I hope you'll check back every week or so and see what's new.

Hi again, everyone. I'm resurrecting this thread to invite anyone interested back the Tale of Mistledale site (link in my sig), as I have just done a large update (and there have been six or seven others since the site went live).

To grab your interest, here are some of the latest goodies from the last update:

* The latest chapter of the story
* Monsters: fish swarm, naiad, naturebound creature (template)
* Character stats for a naturebound dryad Drd4 of Eldath
* Spell: prison of roots
* And I'm very proud of the illustration for the latest chapter. It's a portrait of Ainecotte, queen of the wood woses.
* And, oh yeah, for all you guys: she's half nekked! ;)

Hope you'll all swing by and check it out!
