Aspects of Mephistopheles don’t appear on Faerūn very often, but when they do, they bring a number of other devils with them. Rumors insist that Mephistopheles, or an aspect of him, is trapped in Undermountain, but no one has ever found it.Is this some kind of allusion to Neverwinter Nights: Hordes Of The Underdark?

02-16-07, 06:10 PM that was my thought too, NWN and it's expansions aren't canon persay but WOTC and TSR before it I'm sure have.. borrowed the occasional idea from otherwise non-canon video games

02-17-07, 12:26 AM I believe it is the reverse. the games take little hidden tidbits from canon, and expand on them into a/the game.

02-17-07, 02:39 PM It's possible, and it's certainly not the first time a demon prince or archdevil has been trapped in Faerun -- Gargauth is the prime example of this, trapped under a city in the Southlands until a renegade Cult of the Dragon cell came-a-calling. However, given this is an allusion to a non-canon game, at the best this is one of those hooks that a GM might be able to use to create an interesting campaign.
