adventure around moonsea area [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-19-04, 12:39 AM Hey, anyone has ideas for an adventure around the moonsea area. My player is using a fighter(8th level)/blackguard (1st level). He's alone so please help me create an adventure for him.

Well, He is a fervent follower of Bane. He believes that Bane will somehow grant him power for being an effective follower.

What are your character's goals?
He wants to eliminate the Pereghost and assume Darkhold's leadership. He also wants to kill all of Cyric's follower because he thinks that they are a nuisance to Bane's church.

Where did you originate?
He is the offspring of an aristocratic family from Zhentil Keep. He wanted to become a paladin of Torm, like the ones that litter epic stories, but he was rejected. He then became a mercenary under Zhentarim's orders. He was so brutal and efficient during skirmishes and battles that he quickly gained reputation as a ruthless mercenary.

How did you become a blackguard?
He was approached by a cleric from Bane with an interesting proposal (this was made to test his potential) The proposal was to bargain with a demon in exchange for power and wealth; he had to kill a tormite and his entire family in order to complete his side of the bargain. He accepted happily and commited the gruesome murders.

Cool. Are you familiar with the Bane's Eye portal write-up on this site in the Perilous Gateways series of web articles? Anyway, check it out. Perhaps a suitable adventure would be to root out a group of Cyricists established near Zhentil Keep who are responsible for scrying on the portal. In the course of uncovering these spies, you also uncover that the portal can be keyed to transport you to Darkhold... and your loyal minions as well.

Perhaps this will be your entree to taking over Darkhold and challenging the Pereghost?
