| Alurvelve04-21-07, 01:20 AM | Ok I am about to start a new campaign and would like some help or ideas from yall to help me flesh it out some more. The campaign is going to be in the Silver Marches area. This is what I have so far. The characters start in Deadsnows and learn of the gold rush and the orcs growing numbers. This then gets put on the back burner as I introduce them into the Red Hand Of Doom module. The hobgoblin forces are comeing from the Nether Mts and the Morume Dragin clan is behind it all. I've already changed key parts of the modules to fit in there and am useing Deadsnows as the starting point. Once they have finished this they now learn of the Orc army massing and now being noteable Heros of the area set out to investigate yet another dark army ready to march on the lands. Here I will have them encounter many of Oboulds sons as well as Frost Giants from Gerti's army. They then will travel to the Moonwood where they will run into a tribe of lycanthropes there. After battleing the Werewolf Lord of Malar there they travel to Nesme to help defend against the trolls of Proffits army. They will also do battle with Gert's pet dragon thats in the area there. Once they have beaten back all of this and go to help Bruenor and his dwarves of Mithral Hall they get wind of Obould's secret alliance with the Wizards of Luskan. They then have to go there to break that alliance and in doing so battle a number of wizards and the pirate captains there. They will of gotten to Luskan by the time winter sets on them if all goes to plan, nd be trapped there unless they plan to venture out in the cold harsh snow of the north. All the players that are going to be playing this are huge Drizzt fans and have read the novels. The plan is to give them something close to thier iconic hero but still letting them shine as heros of thier own. I'm not too sure how they will meet the Comapnions of the Hall but sooner or later I will introduce them to them just so they can say they have meet them. I've given them a brief run down of what the campaign will be like and where it will be located at so they might make characters suitable for the campaign. When I get info from them I'll post what they are. I'm pretty sure that one will be an archer of some sort, while another will be a sorcerer or warmage. The third pc will most likely be some sort of fighter but not sure what. If he gets any detail that dragons will be involved I am sure he will make a dragon slayer. The main problem I see for this group is that they will have no healer (as thats thier problem a lot). I am thinking of makeing a character to go along with them and him be a dwarven cleric, but in past history they seem to become dependant on that characters knowledge of the region and etc. My question to yall I guess is have any of you done somethig similar to this yet, and if so how did it turn out. And do any of you have any ideas of suggestions about anything. |

Or if it's not a healer problem, it's a problem of not having this or that character. You can rarely get everything, so the point is more to make best use of what you have. I usually let my players make whatever characters they like and I always favor them taking the responsibility for those actions. If there is no healer in the group, they they will have to rely on potions and wands. If there is another character with access to cure spells, you could grant that player a wand of cure moderate wounds as treasure loot. Might make their lives a bit easier. |

The good ol' trusty CMW wand! |
