Ousia 10-30-03, 09:29 AM	hi everyone :o) I am back in the Forgotten Realms being absent for 14 years. Don't ask... long study of philosophy and philosophy of science.. anyway... Much have happened since then ... an enormous amount of new information has pilled up since I bought the first print of "The Crystal Shard"... I am not a player anymor, but loves to write short stories, and why not try to venture the realms of my last teenage years? I have an idea for a shortstorie based on divine interferance with the mortals, but I do not want it to cross over with any kind of official material made by TSR. I want it to fit perfectly into human orientated region of Faerun. I have studied some of my (few books, 'cause back then not much material has left TSR yet), and have found Sembia the so far ideal region for my short story. If anybody could tell me which accesory books and novels I need in order to implement detailed information on this region, I would be greatful :o) ...and I am aware of "Halls of Stormweather" and the other novels of the Sembia Novels .. I am reading them now.. :o) Any information is considered good information. Thx to all who's minds and hearts often travels Faerun.. Sorry about the language.. Kuje31 10-30-03, 12:26 PM	There's not really much info on Sembia, since it was left open for DM's to detail. There is some info in the old FR Adventures sourcebook, and a little in the 2e campaign box set......
Cherrn 10-30-03, 12:44 PM	Don't worry about the language din gamle viking ;) Read the sembia-series like you are doing, grab Twilight Falling as well (can be found in the shop named "B.O", formerly "Bog og Ide" as softcover woohooo! :D). And look through the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting 3rd ed. for some info as well. That should do it :)

Wooly Rupert 10-30-03, 06:18 PM	You know, 'tis kinda odd that there is no Sembia sourcebook. Between 1st and 2nd edition, a rather large portion of the Realms was covered by various sourcebooks... Cormyr, the Moonsea, the Vilhon Reach, the Dalelands... All of those got full sourcebooks. Waterdeep got a couple modules, a sourcebook, a boxed set, and a Volo's Guide... Heck, one of the comics was set mostly in Waterdeep, and I think that at least one of the others dropped by there, too. But Sembia always gets left out.... Oddly. :confused:
Ousia 10-30-03, 10:05 PM	14 years ago I was the chairman of a small group of 40 players spread out in 6-7 classrooms, playing everything from AD&D to Blood Bowl, the Boardgame. Those were funny days.... until... I am of course sorry to say to the members of this forum, that we played Rolemaster in Middle-Earth. Every player in the group loved Tolkiens books, and I was probarbly the only one who had not... then. Anyway.. My point is that i left as a chairman of the Roleplaying Group due to the fact that every single gaming evening (or weekend) was lost in Game rules discussions and trying desperately to pinpoint the most crucial events in LOTR. Essentually the DM's story was lost, and the story plot has always been the key element to me in any kind of adventures story (ranging from movies in general to AD&D). Therefor I actually find TSR's policy on keeping Sembia an open region in the Realms. Very few details on the region has been written down, so it's up to the DM to create whatever he or she finds suitable for the game. In the future I might create a website on the Forgotten Realms which will make it easy for DM's to implement his or her own adventure into the vast number og accesories of FR. Maby a website could be made where everybody with knowledge on FR could participate in order to create the largest internet informational source on what has happened, what is happening and what is to come in the world of The Forgotten Realms. On old love of mine has sprung to my eyes, and she will not pass me unattended :o)

I'm not an active gamer right now, but I do own a rather large amount of Forgotten Realms stuff... I, personally, like to have a region with more description than what's been given for Sembia. I like to have that nice framework, and I find I get more ideas from that than I do from trying to think of what to do in an undefined area... But then again, I've never really cared for Sembia. I like Waterdeep and the Silver Marches (at least, that's what it's called this week).
