"...are unique in that they do not venerate the Mordinsamman, or, indeed, worship any gods." The FRCS adds that, in the afterlife... "...All Faithless suffer the same punishment: They form a living wall around the City of Judgement, held together by a supernatural greenish mold. This mold prevents them from escaping the wall and eventually and eventually breaks down their substance until the soul and its consciousness are dissolved." Man. Sucks to be you, arctic dwarves. Is any race in the Realms more monumentally screwed? Chalk this up as yet nother reason to hate the wonky cosmology included in the FRCS. Did anyone actually think this lameness through? "Supernatural greenish mold" alone... Egads. :( |
| Twilight Herald03-30-04, 11:38 PM | In 2nd edition Forgotten Realms, at least, only human souls went to the Fugue Plane and the City of the Dead. All good and neutral aligned elven souls, for example, ascended to Arvandor regardless of their religious convictions, and I always assumed similar arrangements applied to dwarves. Not sure if this "exemption" for demihumans still applies in the 3E cosmology, though. |

Or for the gnomes to have a death/dead deity..... Kel and the Wall are only for Faerun human pantheon..... |

They have a different pantheon and a completely different set of rules on what happens when they die. They don’t go visit Kel, they go to another “holding area” and only allowed to go to the correct domain (ie plane) that does not necessarily correspond to their patron god. |
