| Herr Doktor08-22-03, 12:26 AM | The PCs in my group we're all doing well until the party mage ended up at -18 hp when he walked into a fullisade of darts that was built be the kobolds now inhabiting the tower. The party struggled on through the ruined tower of Dracandros and were forced to turn back when the ranger abandoned the bard and unconcious fighter to their own fates. The ranger was cut down by his own former best friend who was under the influence of some sort of strong compulsion magic. The fighter was able to return to full strength thanks to the priests of Lathander's Open Hand in Hap, and the bard managed relatively unscathed (excepting that non-lethal damage he recieved from the badly missed climb check on Haptooth Hill). Now the fighter (a mercenary who was to be paid by the mage) and the bard (NG, doesn't want to be responsible for the death of a party member and the moral damage it'd cause) are heading to the Abbey of the Sword in search of a priest powerful enough to raise their employer and companion respectively. The do not have the money to afford such a casting. They have manged to pay for a gentle repose spell that will keep the body intact until the PCs can reach the Abbey. How can the PCs pay this debt? Or would the Abbey simply refuse them? I was thinking about a special geas being cast along with the raise dead, but the PCs will want to hurry and be back on the trail of the Red Wizard they have been following. What do you suggest? |
