| BITING-GNOME10-03-03, 06:35 PM | Has anyone here tried something different than the normal DnD character. I mean, anyone can make a character that runs in, kills the kobolds, and runs out richer. But what about personallity and other tactics. Perhaps a con artist rouge. And evil characters bent on ruling all of faerun don't count either. There are enough ones as it is that came with the books. There are ways of getting experiance without mass killings. |

You may find it interesting to read some of the threads on The Character Development Forum (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=340). I have had a female hafling cleric who has a famous, swashbuckling brother and wants to overcome what she sees as her cowardice. I have also played an evil half elven rogue who finally escaped the place where she was kept as a child slave (I won't go into the nastier details) killing several guards and customers on the way out. Her goal isn't money for money's sake - she wants to be safe and secure, and she HATES men. The list could go on and on - but there are as many different characters and as many different plot hooks as there are players. |
