An Ebberon Demon in Forgotten Realms...... [Archive] - Wizards Community

A Daelkyr!

Think about it a creature who takes no sides in any of the power struggles of Faerun. A being who has the abilitie to change and creat abberations, and would more than likely like to figure out how to bring more of his kind across the vast void of the planes....

The only problem is the Mindflayers of forgotten relms might not like having a higher power than them meddeling.

Player characters could be of any aligntment while facing a common cause.

07-15-05, 05:27 PM Funny you should mention this, as the players in my long-term FR campaign are currently working on their way to assault... a daelkyr. I changed the daelkyr's type to Aberration (extraplanar) and recalculated everything, but the result is still quite deadly.

This particular daelkyr was summoned to Undermountain by a female alienist who found some of Halaster's notes on extraplanar gates but failed to interpret them correctly. After dealing with his summoner (in a manner most gruesome and not appropriate for showing on this board), he stumbled across Manshoon's clone and made a "pact" with him. The daelkyr would provide Manshoon with an army of aberrations strong enough for Manshoon to retake control over the Zhentarim. In return, Manshoon would assist the daelkyr in creating an active link to the Far Realm and infecting a part of Faerūn with madness-inducing chaos. Naturally, both "allies" plan on betraying one another as soon as their usefulness is over.

Currently, the daelkyr is located in a demiplane linked to from a manor in north Cormyr (c.v. Sword Heralds), where he and Manshoon have opened an active portal to the Far Realm, through which the chaosstuff has already tainted the entire demiplane (the logic here is that it's easier to establish a link to the Far Realm from a demiplane in the Ethereal than from the Prime Material Plane). Next, Manshoon has modified the exit portal to Faerūn to allow some chaosstuff to seep through it, and the daelkyr is building an army of dolgrims and dolgaunts from the assorted goblinoid tribes of the Stonelands.

07-15-05, 06:25 PM That is A great Idea!, I wasnt planning on useing the work along side war idea, but it does have a nice ring to it.

I thought about haveing a Daelkyr who, was summoned here long ago, mabey during the beginning of the Elven Crown Wars -12000 DR, were he took control of the summoner, and proceeded to slowly explore his new world, and for the pass several Millenia, he has been working on a new Species designed for the forgotten Reams world...... and all that time he is ready to release his creation, and reach out across to the far relms.......
