"New" Guide to Cormyr [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm just asking myself when there will be a "new" guide to the Heartlands (Cormyr and the Dalelands). I mean some kind of guide similar to "Serpent Kindoms" or "Silvermarches". I downloaded the 2E guide to Cormyr, and I really enjoyed reading it ;) because it's very good, but does anybody know when a "new" guide to Cormyr and the Dalelands should be realeased?

(Cormyr is just such a magnificent country! I love it! :) )

07-14-04, 03:47 PM We don't know which regional sourcebook is next after Shining South, and Waterdeep next year. There won't (unless Wizards is crazy) be just one book on all of the Heartlands, which has more unpublished lore than the rest of Toril put together -- Ed's elephantine notes, and work such as that on Cormyr's history and nobles. Rather, one each on the Dales, Cormyr, etc. -- also, otherwise the whole book would be taken up with basic information, timeline update, and crunchy bits, with minimal new material.

I'd also speculate that Wizards will alternate Heartlands regions with remote areas, as both are in demand. And I think the far-off places are more amenable to a wide range of authors whereas I will raise both eyebrows at a Dales book not by Ed. But beyond that your guess is as good as mine.

Trying to pressure Ed, isn't a very good ideal, especially since he doesn't use 3E at all.

As to the books for the Heartlands/Dales/Cormyr, I see it being at least 3 books, more likely more. 1 book on the Dales, 1 book on Cormyr, and the Heartlands itself being broken into several more.
