AskaniPsion 07-09-04, 08:47 PM	.I got my copy of "Annihilation" yesterday in the mail. Since I am a HUGE fan of the Lady of Spiders, I had to skim the end of the book to see if she is killed. Definitely interesting what Lolth was doing the whole time. Why can't I get spoiler tags to work?? Too bad we gotta wait till April to read the last book.

" or something). e.g. . . . . . . . . simply to stop making onlookers reading the first and last parts of the spoiler text. . . . Second, feel free to give us a short rundown of events ... strictly background-wise, no word on how you like the writing, the author's style and you are fine. My questions would be: what becomes of Menzo and what happens to Danifae ...

Apparently Lolth has left the Demonwebs & made her own new plane to live on. Her priestesses have their spells back. VERY VERY grusome scene with Gromph & how he gets his sight back. Can't wait till the last one. This whole series is superb - definitely the best I have read in the Forgotten Realms.

soulthief 07-10-04, 04:56 PM	It's Ryld making his way through a swamp. What was the other character miss? Now I realize Ryld is not wearing Breastplate and vambraces. The last novel had Halisstra on the front. You also have to have an artist own perception. We all have a different mental picture of the characters. I'm sure Brom, who always does great artwork has his own mental image of Ryld. Regardless of the cover art it was truly a outstanding book. In my opinion Brom has done an excellent job.:angel: :D
Crust 07-10-04, 05:18 PM	I suppose I should have been more specific. The cover features Ryld wielding a sword one-handed. Splitter is a greatsword, and must be wielded in two hands. It makes one wonder how much effort is put into these things. Did Brom just think he could draw up any old drow elf? Splitter is a greatsword, and it should have appeared so in the cover. It's a small detail, and it's not worth wetting one's pants over, but it's something that should have been done right, and it wasn't. The worst part of it is that I'm not at all surprised. Someone should have said to Brom over his shoulder, "Eh, you know, Ryld wields a greatsword. You might want to actually draw it that way!" Maybe next time something will click. :twitch:

Despite its hugeness, the greatsword was so perfectly balanced that it felt as light as a dagger in his grasp." like a sunblade maybe? he is dual-wielding on the cover?
