omera 10-05-07, 08:12 AM	I plan on reading warhammer fantasy/40k books as well as FR and ravenloft books. Does anybody know of any good ones I should pick up?
Panurg 10-05-07, 08:23 AM	FR specific I would suggest 'War of the Spider Queen' and the following 'Lady Penitent' series. You get to know a great deal of darkelves and it consists on 9 books, so you have entertainment for a long time. Ravenloft 'The War against Azalin' 'Hour of the wolfes' 'Lord of the Necropolis'
Lord Karsus 10-05-07, 01:06 PM	-Depends on what you're interested in. I'll suggest you pick up one of the Realms of X Anthologies, all of which are collections of short stories, so you can first develop a 'feel' for the setting. Then, you can branch off, find a little area you like...

The spine of the world and its following are great to where Wulgar get a real combat against himself and alchool problem. This one is really a great book you should pick Spine of the World by R.A. Salvatore.:)

Salvatore.:) The Icewind Dale trilogy, the Cormyr Trilogy, and the Avatar Trilogy are all pretty good.
Elzingaar 10-06-07, 06:49 PM	I've only been exposed to the Realms for a few years now, and in fact, this is my first post upon this website, but I may have a suggestion for reading material. Personally, I find anything by Salvatore to be pure genius, but with that said, I highly recommend anything that Paul S. Kemp has written. I prefer his earlier novels in comparison to his recent addition, but only because I'm quite frustrated with how long my local bookstore is taking to get the latest part in of the 'The Twilight War' trilogy. So yeah, a good start is anything by good ol' Bob, perhaps 'The Dark Elf Trilogy' would be a good start... He's quite the profound writer, and it seems that nearly everyone damn well likes his characters. But that's just my recomendation, I suppose. EDIT: Ahem. Sorry. The books I recommend from both these authors are from the Forgotten Realms series, and JUST in case you don't know, Bob is R. A. Salvatore. ^_^
