if you did i would like to know how it worked out , and how ya set it up. i was thinking of rolling up a drow party for my group, so as to make sure they would fit into the plot. as opposed to them doing whatever they wanted. yeah not as personal as them making their own pc's but sometimes gotta do it.also because any of this CE drow party that survives will hopefully become the BBEG when we switch back to their current PC's. also if any of you have run this with CE drow pc's. did any of you do what i'm thinking of having, which would basically be secret innuendo and agendas within the the party say the assasins father and trainer was sacrificed by his mother to ensure the good of her newborn daughter. the assasins sister who is also in the party playing the preistess of lolth, has no idea that her brother blames her existence for the death of his father or that he actually cares enough about the matter to wish her painfully eliminated. any way it would take a good amount of time to work out these agendas and eventually the pc's would secretly know what their agenda would be and would have to bide their time (basically the aftermath of the module to wrap up loose ends), i can even imagine a dark elf version of the ending to "resovoir dogs". it could be totally amazing and could fail miserably. anyway what do ya think. yada yada yada

I put them through CotSQ as an evil party, with drow in it (also a dwarven berserker and a fey'ri sorcerer, the drow being psion and darkmask).

As I had some bad experience with evil parties in the past (in the first - and up till then only - evil party I played in, a 2e Ravenloft-turned-FR game), with lots of intriguing and backstabbing within the party, and without any story whatsoever, I decided to stop that before it begins:

Their superior who sent them on their quest was an epic drow arcane trickster, belonging to house Jaelre of Cormanthor. Learning about increasing attacks of undead in the dales (and suspecting followers of Kiaransalee), he sent two agents of house Jaelre to investigate (he also sent a fae'ri and a dwarf with them). He made it clear (and at the same time, I made clear), that every infighting in the party will result in the offender being killed (this mission was somewhat important, and if he had to stop his work to go look into it himself, he'd be really p**ed). Thus I told them in-game and out-of-game that teamwork was "appreciated". Wasn't really necessary, at least not after some other player/s (whose characters aren't mentioned above) left the group.

All in all, it worked out well: They had plenty of apportunity to kill drow of an enemy faith - even including some spider kissers - and the other two were greedy and bloodthirsty enough to run along

I would let them make their own characters just tell them they have to be drow and Evil, and related such and such way. Personally I would be offended if someone gave me a character to play.
